Funny enough, before Ragnarok, I thought the MCU would play with the whole "love death" thing by having Thanos and Hela be a couple. The idea of Asgardians and Eternals having run into each other in the past felt too obvious to ignore. Also, the idea of Thanos actually living in our solar system is oddly hilarious. Like, Tony is worried about another alien invasion and Thanos turns out to be living, relatively speaking, in the same neighborhood.

In the MCU, Thanos's home titan is a planet in deep space, it's not the saturn's moon titan like in the comics and the MCU Thanos is also not an eternal even the MCU eternals are completely different from the comics as they are just a group of 10 something robots instead of an entire civilization of actual living beings like in the comics. There are so many things the MCU did differently from the comics.

Actually death isn't female it has no form.Like people who claim to be in love with their diety like Jesus,Buddha,Allah or Zeus. The stories we read of Thanos are from the perspective of others not Thanos himself. His love of death isn't sexually based it is ideological like patriots who loves their countries.

Wasn't a huge reason for Thanos gathering the Soul Gems for the Gauntlet so he could be on the same level as Death, just so she would talk to him directly? Doesn't the "Thanos Rising" story just demolish that motivation?

    • @davidjones3165

He figured that having the infinity gauntlet he would be her equal.be wanted to kill half of all sentient life to balance he percieved. There were more people alive then had ever fird so he wanted to give a gift to lady death. He initially started his quest with his own powers which she augmented so he could complete his mission quicker. After studying the well of infinite knowledge he figured he could do in a second with all 6 infinity stones. Which started him on his quest to acquire the stones. Once gathering all 6 stones he finally completed his mission wiping out half of all sentient life but sadly lady death now considers him her superior so she felt she was not worthy of him. Since he was now outside of time, death and basically a god.

Marvel Comics REALLY NEEDS To ReSharpe Thanos' power source 💪!! They say he has bionic implants, yet ,I NEVER Seen ANY 1 of his lumps mechanically disattached. Nebula is more Bionic than either Thanos or Gamora!! Just by saying Thanos was born with the Deviant Gene is enough to establish how powerful he is.

When Nebula 1st appeared in Avengers #257 in 85 ,she wasn't as powerful as her grandfather but, she was far less mechanical than she is now. A strong , attractive😍 & fetching figure she had & was no slouch in the weight room ( able to lift 60 tons) can handle herself
against ANY Super strong male or female. She had wrist blasters on each arm!! A worthy successor to Thanos' image as far as privacy is concerned!! Wiping out half the universe was Thanos 's idea 💡 to buying Death's 🖤. Don't let the MCU put the cover over U fans!! Yes! not actually, but close. While in college artist-creator Jim Starlin created the characters Thanos and Dax as part of a psy project. Jack Kirby's New Gods were already in publication and as Starlin admired Kirby's work ( who didn't) both Thanos and Dax had New God-like appearances. However Thanos originally look more like Metron than Darkseid. When Starlin got his first comic book assignment it was The Invincible Iron Man #55 (1973 FEB) featuring Thanos and Dax for the first time. At this time Stan Lee had become the the publisher of Marvel Comics and his successor as editor-in-chief was Roy Thomas. Seeing what Starlin wanted to do, Thomas said Starlin could use his personal creations but only if Thanos was made in Darkseid's image. To quote Thomas: Beef him up! If you're going to steal one of the New Gods, at least rip off Darkseid, the really good one! The rest is history!

Ughh I pretend Jason Aaron's origin for Thanos doesn't exist, it contradicts Titans lore and Thanos character along with a reinterpretation of Death as a concept and more a figment of his imagination. I also don't like how he turned into a space Jeffery Dahmer, whereas the 70s Thanos was obsessed with intangible power over the idea of dissecting people. I will say its nice you try to intermingle the origin stories, but the Aaron one kinda irritates me especially regarding Thanos mother's death where originally he had killed her via a nuclear bombardment along with him originally swearing his life to Death and then going around boinking every alien and having illegitimate children, which as a nihilist makes no sense. Yeah Thanos Rising has quite a few contradictions.
