      Niels Feijn, simply put....... My favorite pro player to watch. This stop shit drill is excellent. Used to shoot one quite the same along the long rail. Start 1 diamond apart, pot 15, move to the next diamond. Continue until object ball is at the far end and then start closing the gap with the cue ball. Perfect for long and short stop shots. Plus allows your body to get used to reaching further but still making the same shot.

    Massively important. You fall into a trap as an amateur that all shots should be hit hard. Your pals will say, “let your stoke out!!!”. That helps for awhile because your not letting the table roll your shot off or your no longer decelerating through your shot.... what Niels is saying here got me past that particular point in my game and took it to a new level. Now when I see other amateurs hitting those shots super hard, I know I’ll have chances at the table. Great video Niels!

  • @tarkusmike
    @tarkusmike 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Terminator - when you say “massive” improvements, it’s not hype like others tout. You really deliver! I’ve been working on this tip for 2 weeks and I’ve once again made a massive improvement to my game! This draw/stop shot is quite a weapon. I’m making virtually all of my shots that are just off the rail, from the straight in and cut angles, which was always a weak spot for me. The object ball goes into the target pocket nice and easily, with a wide margin for being off on the shot. I also have much more cue ball tangent line control so my positioning is much better now. And last but not least - this plus your stroke tips have slowed down my stroke so I am more accurate on all my shots in what is now more of a finesse game. Thanks Neils - besides being a world champion, you are equally adept at communicating and helping thousands of players!

I see a lot of guys lining shots up that look straightahead they go higher on the cue ball they shoot their shot instead of the cue ball following the ball into the pocket like I would think it would the shot is turned into a force follow shot putting the cue ball in a completely different position than I thought it would end up I’m having a little bit of a difficult time with this concept thank you

    I had, at one time, a lot of trouble rattling shots out of the pocket. I just hit too many shots harder than I needed to. Then one day a guy here in the Philippines was watching me play and said "you know, you are a decent player but would be a lot better if you didn't hit the ball so hard."
    He then mentioned to me the phrase "Hit it slow, open the hole." And he was right. I wasn't giving the pocket a chance to accept many of the balls I hit because I was hitting them too hard. I am now a MUCH better shot maker.

    Thanks for tip and instructions, not bad to have a coach at your level as an average amateur :-)
