South East Asian here and purple ube ice cream has existed since I was small XD. You could go to the ice cream motorcycle guy and ask if he has ube ice cream (sometimes there’s corn flavour too! And durian!) he would gladly scoop you some for 1 Ringgit hehe (delicious! Would recommend!)

yup they are using the okinawan sweet POTATO which is very different in taste and color than Ube. Ube is much tastier and purple.
