I love a game where decisions have consequences. I hate it when the consequences cannot be discerned, making it luck of the draw.
Was just about to say this, the only downside of this game, really annoying, and the fact that you can't go to a previous save file is also annoying
The only one that satisfies her is the charm option, thing is, its the worst one otherwise XD
I just found out....the hard way, 20 hrs of good karma gameplay down the drain due to shitty dialogue signaling.
Deleted my save game in frustration and moved on to another game.
Gonna give Vampyr a try again in a couple of weeks instead....now I know how the shitty dialogue wheel works.
@@kenneth83DK I thought the charm option wsa the best one, because it teaches you that you need to take care of that distrct in her place. Since you made a "mistake" technically. Gamers aren't used to that, but the world of vampyre especially the Mary opening, is all about mistakes. It keeps you in the Reid character better. And it does not hurt the "not even once" ending.
You just gotta love the dialogue in this specific instance:
Ashbury: "...I'm a trifle embarrassed." *giggles*
Reid: "Anyway..."
Really wish this game had a free roam mode or new game+ once you finish it, I get why they didn't do it but it's tedious as heck to have to gather shit to upgrade gear and redo entire builds every time.

Not sure if you can still romance her in the end if you kill her, I only did it because I never really embraced anybody before. I'm still wondering if she will reject you in the end

This first mission is pretty awful. I do LOVE this game, it's pretty good once you get past this chapter. However it's a chore to get through.
*SPOILERS*
So you have to stop Nurse Crane from blackmailing Ashbury. The only way to do that is to Mesmerize her to "forget". This seems like the best option, as you have to research Nurse Crane and learn everything about her to get this option, and Ashbury seems completely content with this choice... However in Crane's state of mind, she is attacked by a Skal and turned, meaning the situation in Whitechapel worsens as it starts spreading the disease.
I ended up killing her, since that seemed to be the only way she was going to stop blackmailing Ashbury and I wanted the experience if she was going to end up dead anyway. But Reid goes all "I killed that chick for you". WTF dude?? Can't you show a little tact and at least pretend you got her to stop?
Honestly the other missions and choices are way better than this first one.
I remember I killed crane the first time around because I thought that's what the lady wanted.
But then she gets all b***** at me when going ahead with it.
I remember thinking what the hell lady you're the one who wanted the blackmail to stop.
Crane seemed pretty adamant about not wanting to stop the blackmailing.
she was going to keep going until the woman was out of money.
Plus crane was being b***** with me at the time so she wasn't exactly endearing herself to me.
The second time around I tried and Jedi Mind wiping her and that's the only time the lady ever agreed with any of my actions.
Thing is though I knew the second I got finished with crane I knew I just had made a huge mistake.
because it seems like I accidentally turned her Brain to jello.
Also interesting side note I feel like I should point out to you.
If you kill someone that is in a Social Circle and then wait a night interesting side effects will take place to the people who are inside that Social Circle.
For instance the old man involved with crane's dispensary.
If crane is killed the old man gets his knickers in a Twist and starts to imply that he's going to join up with the guard of prdwin.
Just thought you should know in case you didn't.

I recently finished it and I'm pleasantly surprised. I made the choice where you brainwash Crane and inadvertently turn her into a Skal and I thought it was a bad choice but I guess not.
Even if you spare Crane, she stops blackmailing Ashbury. She finds another rich bugger to blackmail lol.
Does the choice you make with Dorothy affect their relationship in the end? (Does she still like him if he spares her?)

Does Ashbury have any reactions if you kill her daughter? I finished my run with no deaths, so now I'm left wondering.

If you're concerned about the state of Whitechapel it's probably best to spare her, charming turns her into a skal as well.

Because when you mesmerized crane. Your mem lvl was low, so you broke her mind because of inexperience. It says it in one of the collectibles
Why was lady ashbury so upset to find put she made harriett jones. Is it because she made the peidemic or because she can only mske skals. Why is there nothing online exolainf this. Why did thr game not explain this. What the fuck was her problem.
Because she felt used by Edgar, she already knew that her blood was sick and that she could only create Skals, that's why she never turned anyone into a vampire in the past, however it was her blood that started the epidemic since Edgar had stolen a little of his blood to inject into Harriet Jones and check if the blood of vampires could cure the Spanish flu, obviously Edgar did not know that blood was contaminated.

This game is rubbish in terms of consistency. Sparing Crane should have the best outcomes, yet the game rewards one of the most disgusting choices. No wonder the game is canceled. Whoever was in charge of the mission design, should be banned in the gaming industry.
