  • Ahead of the 4th Review Conference of the UN PoA and the 10th Conference of State Parties to the ATT, this discussion provided an opportunity to hear from experts about the latest research and trends on gender-responsive arms control. The event also served as a forum for sharing best practices from the African Region, as well as ideas for action to sustain momentum and ensure that gender-related topics remain a priority in multilateral arms control discussions, in line with 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (Goal 16 on peace and security and Goal 5 on gender equality) and in line with the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) and the Beijing Declaration.
