For someone who has no experience in makeup whatsoever, this is really helpful! I know a lot of people are complaining how you talk too much, but for me at least, it helped me since this is basically my introduction to makeup. So thank you!
does anyone else have the issue of the eye that's on the same side as their dominant hand (e.g. right) coming out perfectly and the other (left) coming out shit :(
I know that this is going to be hard to believe, but I'm 52 and I was quite "tomboyish" through most of my life. No one really ever taught me how to put on makeup and I'm using liquid eyeliner for the first time ever. Oh, btw...I live in a tent and don't have the best lighting or the best mirror. I can tell that you have a lot of patience and you did a wonderful job on this tutorial. When you started talking about making the wing and pretending that your bottom lash line continues...well, I got that! Great explanation! Wish me luck! And thank you again! 😀
I am 72 and watching this tutorial for the first , one of my nieces , said to me last week, “come on try to used some eyeliner “ , I will let you know ladies
I've never, ever in my life been able to successfully do wings and it's frustrating because basically every other woman in the world knows how to as if they were born with all the knowledge of womanhood haha this makes me want to try again
I’ve been wearing makeup for so long but it’s just to school so no one actually cares but now we are in quarantine so I’m just trying to master what I can😂😂
I just found you (five years later than most) but I think you are an excellent teacher. I am an older woman (61) and for years I never thought I could draw a good cat eye as I always got discouraged. Well, things are changing and I'm taking much better care of myself--entering a new chapter in my life. And yes, that includes a damn good cat eye! So far I am doing pretty good as per your tips, thank you!!!
Thank you for this! I'm brand spanking new to liquid liner at the ripe old age of 32. 😂 I haven't practiced yet, but I think I'll be able to thanks to this! PS: as a newbie, I thoroughly appreciate the detailed explanations on how exactly to execute. After all, says plainly in the title "for beginners!" So nevermind those who said you "talk to much," it was perfect.
Nice. I do almost the same, i used to copy all the good vloggers, starting from the wing then working to the inner eye. It was hard for me so i quit doing eyeliners and just put shadows. Then just recently ive been doing liners again & realized it was so much easier to start in the middle of the eyelid then put the wing later on, & trying to put liner first before eyeshadow so i can erase if it didnt go well, then foundation.
Best beginner's eyeliner tutorial, ever!!! Thank you so much. I got it! Still working on doing my left eye, but I have the concept. Thanks again!! 😁🤗👍🏽
I love the hack of looking down so you don’t have to pull on your eye. I’ve been doing my own makeup for years and have had it done professionally countless times and had never heard that trick before.
Thank you! I have watched several other tutorials for the "winged" look and yours explained it in more detail (but not to much detail) on where to start and why. You spoke slow enough but not to slow and kept it simple and made it seem easy! Now off to practice!!!
Thank you for the tip about looking down. It was a key tip for me and I've watched a bunch of tutorials on wingedvliner but this is the first time I've heard that.
I cannot stress this enough this video is a blessing I watched it once and my eyeliner was 1000000 times better, it’s still not perfect considering this is one of my first decent eyeliner application but it’s definitely presentable
Joanna, thanks so much! It's been difficult to find a good tutorial for winged eyeliner that isn't super thick or overdone. Also helps that you have a fair skin tone similar to mine. Great tutorial!
Omgosh Thank You!!! I've watched 9 zillion tutorials with Zero success.. Duh me... Your explanation and demonstration was so precise that I finally Got it😇. You are a timeless Beauty❤
You are so pretty! I love your personality. I usually don't watch makeup videos bc the people doing them are divas. I will be going back and watching all your videos! This was the most comprehensive tutorial! I loved the lower lash continuing up tip
I've always struggled with doing winged eyeliner, but I think that this technique might work! Thank you so much! I hope I can get it somewhat decent for my first time! BTW, you're really pretty!
Joanna, this is the first time I've seen a video of yours from the "past". I subscribed to you last year sometime I think. It's crazy how much things change. I love your makeup style now and it's pretty here too! U can rock anything, is what I'm saying! ❤️ 😘
Great explanation, thank you!!! I've never been much into make up and am trying to learn some tips and tricks to make myself look more put together. Eyeliner has been a struggle so I really appreciate you taking the time to talk us through the process. Well done!
Your tutorial is great! You're beautiful and you make it look so easy. Well I have a challenge for you. I'm 60 years old and I have given up on my makeup. I used to never leave the house without my makeup. But my eyesight is not so great anymore and I'm my hands are not as steady as they used to be. So do you have any tips for us old ladies who want a little liner and mascara!? I've tried the liquid liners and that was a disaster!! HELP... Or should I just give up?
Also what shadows did you use here? I just started using Gucci foundation and it is the bet ever! Im 48 but look younger because I have always taken good care of my skin and have botoxed since I was 26. I hate when you see foundation. especially on older women. The Gucci foundation makes my skin flawless but you cant see it. My 20 year old son said "mom you look like a natural doll"! absolutely my favorite and i have used every brand and coverage type. from 10$ a bottle to 150$ a bottle. This is truly amazing and everyone should try. I think its 80$ but 2 pea size is enough for whole face. Well worth the money!!!!!!!
Wow! I was not expecting this to be so informative. I get so lost just watching people do their eyeliner, like I know how to put it on, but this explained how to make it look good. 😆 Thank you so much for this.
omg i have been searching for the best tutorial for making my wings n i tried this method and it came out perfect i am excited thank you so much keep up the good work :)
How do you put eyeshadow on when blending 2 or more colors? I have a nice little kit and it’s called Nudes. Obviously there’s very light nude colors and also a couple dark browns. Thanks 🙏
this is amazing!!!! thank you so much, I've always struggled with this but thanks to your tutorial I got it first try! a lot of useful info and very clear instructions!!!! I love you!
All is fine and well until you hit 30 and need to hold your skin creases out to draw the line 😭😂 been doing winged liner since the 90s. Love the look always have
You have beautiful eyes, i was able to observe you with eyeliner on & off & you really have the most beutiful lash line. But i still loved your video , it was easy to follow & the results where gorgous. Thank you⚡❤
For someone who has no experience in makeup whatsoever, this is really helpful! I know a lot of people are complaining how you talk too much, but for me at least, it helped me since this is basically my introduction to makeup. So thank you!

My problem is I always make 2 perfect wings that look totally different... either angle or width or length 🙄🙄🙄
For me it's either get to perfect ones that aren't identical, or have one be amazing and have the other look like a five year old did it...
Same here
Omg the same thing happens to me
🙋me too 😂😢🤔
Same😭
This was the easiest and ONLY tutorial that worked for me. THANK YOU!
I know that this is going to be hard to believe, but I'm 52 and I was quite "tomboyish" through most of my life. Lady
You have company 😭😭😭
I’ve been wearing makeup for so long but it’s just to school so no one actually cares but now we are in quarantine so I’m just trying to master what I can😂😂
It’s easier for me to start with a small wing and build on it

Omg I've watched so many of these and the way you just explained it, like was so simple but absolutely solved every issue I've had! Subbed!

Awesome video and instructions!!!
You're beautiful! Your eyes are absolutely stunning!! Are they two different colors? The one on the left looks like it has a tad bit of green in it.
Could you maybe measure it with the liner like ya did amd put a dot there on each side? To help go.by?
You have beautiful eyes, i was able to observe you with eyeliner on & off & you really have the most beutiful lash line. But i still loved your video , it was easy to follow & the results where gorgous. Thank you⚡❤
