Russo: Walker isn’t a HOFer because it’s taken 10 years for people to vote for him.....Kent is a HOFer even though no one is voting for him. *head scratcher*
Chris Russo is the best at what he does.!!!!!! - He knows baseball better than most people in the business. I agree with his selections and dismissals - Great job Chris
someone remind this guy that it was called the “steroid era” for a reason. 75% of the best players were on PED’s, no way to tell who was and was not doing various PED’s. singling our players in this era as “cheater” is pointless
I know this is old and Larry Walker got in, but I just need to point out how stupid it is to completely dismiss Larry Walker's Colorodo years. Obviously, they need to be taken in context, but dismissing them outright is idiotic. A .366 49 HR season in Colorodo is less impressive than one done somewhere else, but it is still very impressive. Also, that season Larry Walker hit 29 of his 49 HR on the road with a .346 road batting average. That right there should be enough to make anyone dismissing him "because Coors" to think twice and take a serious look at the actual numbers. To be fair he had other season with more extreme home/road splits, but nearly every player does better at home. However, guys like Russo who think "WaTChiNg tHe GaMeS" is more important than objective statistics will never look close enough to properly contextualize and understand something as nuanced as Coors home/road numbers.
Kent was one of the most productive second basemen ever. If he had played most of his career at Coors field in Denver, his numbers would have dwarfed Walkers.
Can you imagine this guy at dinner with his family? "I'm not passing you the salt. You came to the table for twelve years, you spilled the gravy, you were always a sloppy eater- no salt." Seriously, he doesn't seem to draw breath. He just yammers on and on about something that in the great scheme of life isn't all that important. And as for cheating- "You eat between meals, you fill up on Pepsi, suddenly you want some salad? No way! No, I'm sorry, it's too late for you- and don't tell me you're just a kid! I don't want to hear that. Tell it to Frito-Lay!"
Let me get this straight, Piazza admitted to using Andro in his book, "Long Shot" but stopped using after 98 season, Bagwell admitted to using Andro to the Houston Chronicle but stopped after the 98 season. They admitted to using the same stuff that McGwire used, but he's not in. Total hypocrite.
Russo's attitude on the *cheaters* is why those dudes won't get in....so sad the leading home run hitter, hit leader, and cy young leader won't be in the HOF
you put them all in, or you put none of them in. You can't have Clemens and Bonds get in, and not Palmeiro, McGwire and Sosa. Eventually some committee will do something with the steroid guys, but I would put the onus on them.
It’s amazing how Russo thinks Kent is a Hall of Famer (I’d put him in myself), but he’s consistently said he didn’t think guys like Raines, Mussina, Edgar Martinez, Larkin ect should’ve been in. All he is is a loudmouth
Schilling was great period
I like Schilling off the field

Mad dog, if you look and listen seems like he truly knows what he's talking about. But his mouth rattles on while his brain tries to catch up.

Jeff Kent led the league in errors several times, finished with 194 errors, yet Chris Russo never saw one.
Wrong, he said he never saw an error that cost the Giants a game.
using errors as a stat lol

Jeff Kent over Larry Walker? Get a clue!

Just wondering if you voted for pudge, piazza or bagwell... ??? And really ozzie over vizquel? Neither should hofers
I know Piazza ad Bagwell admitted to using Andro, same stuff that McGwire took.
Fantastic Mad Dog AGREE 100%on cheaters Thank You!!!

OHH BY THE WAY 2461 HITS 377 HOME RUNS DOES NOT GET YOU INTO THE HALL OF FAME!
Then no second baseman should be in the HOF based on your statement
4256 hits doesn't get you into the Hall of Fame, either.
What about Pete Rose?
Sounds about right!!

They get what they deserve. Cheat the game, you don't deserve to be in. I can think of no more fitting a message to send to offenders.

sean curtis Of course, the real Cy Young leader is Cy Young.
Was the hits leader on steroids?
Yeah Russo but back in the day they were high on amphetamines on those train rides
Mike Youngblood The way Russo yammers, it looks like he's pretty familiar himself with banned stimulants.
Chris, would you still vote for Schilling after Jan 6th incursion on our Capitol, which Schilling has shown to support?
Yes. Do you believe Ty Cobb should be in the HOF?
They should remove this guy from the Ballot....
