The perfumer for this one is someone Else. The perfumer for Guerlain fragrances is usually Thierry Wasser. But the perfumer for this one is Delphine jelk.

Her name is on at least 20 Guerlain fragrances. Some with Thierry Wasser, such as L'Homme Ideal Eau de Parfum, and some by herself, such as Habit Rouge Rouge Prive.
She is the other in house perfumer, about to take Thierry’s place according to rumors

Didn't expect to see your review on this masterpiece. Contrary to you, I've bought this one BECAUSE it is not sweet. The vibe, the emotions, love cherry oud. French perfumery at its finest, guerlain's heritage is really something.

Guerlain have so many good fragrances for men and women, and so many I have never heard of! Great French perfumery. I was lucky to smell 'cuir intense' the other day and wow, what a great leather scent.

Love your oud reviews Aaron, if possible please try to get your hands on Maison Crivelli’s Oud Maracuja. It’s a beautiful blend of oud, passion fruit and leather. It is one of my absolute favorites this year and I’d love to hear your take on it.

i think the main difference here is that aaron really likes vanilla compounds, while some perfumers will just keep it drier, smokier, more floral.

The agarwood you use it's some real pow pow but it's amazingly blended. In my autumn wear list for couple years now

Aaron, you should check out the Tabacco Honey from the same line. It is very sweet with massive projection and longevity.

I wonder how much the cedar would dominate 7-8 hours into the dry-down. Love sandalwood, cedar is meh to me. Will try a decant.

Between black and red.. scandalous! Atomizer is fire.. but I’m not surprised that it smells like a French parfum ..finished incomplete thank you I bought Initio because of a review you did a while ago… if it. He’s fantastic and he is doing really well
To me, this one just smelled like cherry and suede with an incredible sillage to it. This stuff was so strong that I got a massive headache from it and had to wash it off after absolutely choking from it during an excruciating drive home.
I agree. It smells like 100 other oud fragrances. There’s no cherry. Disappointing
Your reviews are always very informative and you certainly know what you are talking about but it’s a little embarrassing that a perfumer cannot pronounce Guerlain correctly. You’ve even pronounced Versace wrongly in the past! 😂
