  • The Central Government has today decommissioned the Kiteezi landfill in Wakiso District, handing it over to a Ghanaian investor to turn the garbage into organic manure and recycle the plastic. This comes nearly two months after the garbage landfill killed 23 people and destroyed property in August this year. While handing over the site to Dr. Joseph Agyepong, the founder of Joshing Group of Companies, which will be utilizing the garbage, the Minister for Kampala, Joseph Kyofatogabye, said the move was in line with a cabinet resolution. Now, as Sudhir Byaruhanga reports, this development will bring in more than 2,000 jobs.

But this investor needs money from kcca! If they have an investor then why does kcca need a budget to give him funds to start work, this does not make any sense.
