I just came across a digital multimeter and a clamp meter like this in Lidl just this week. Any particular use cases where this is preferred over a normal multimeter? I put off buying it as I won't be able to do much with electronics for a while now. Don't even know when I can get out my raspberry pi and start tinkering. Good review, appreciate it :)
You can find many similar multimeters in the market but this one from UNI-T has a DC current clamp measurement function while most meters in this price range support only AC current. I'm basically using the UT210E to test and measure electronic components, batteries, and DC AC cables/power strips, and it serves the purpose well. Glad you enjoyed the review.

great review.. I have watched a few reviews and most say similar but not as extensive as your tests.. On the other hand many of the comparison videos are quite obviously biased (snob value).. pick flies on minutiae or play down things where it is better. One video mentioned the low amp (milliamp capability) but said it was not as useful as high amp capability???!!! depends on why you buy it and your needs surely.. I have found it difficult to find a DC clamp meter with ability to detect parasitic draw on my car and still be in my price range. This is often bypassed in reviews.
so this lets you see power frequency in batteries. This will be helpful to know if they have enough juice for (lets say a remote) or if its time to throw them away.
I suggest the UT210E because I don't have the 210D model to check its functions and run accuracy tests. I tested that multimeter on AC plugs, power strips, and outlets through my TH-cam videos for the last 3 years.

It practically detects it because the clamp measures the current that flows through a wire. So, if the meter's reading is abnormal theres a defective cable or a fawlty battery/power source.
This is not a Wattmeter, it's a multimeter. You can measure the DC power (watts) by measuring the voltage across the load and current. Then you just multiply voltage and current to find the DC power.
I did the outlet test to demonstrate that the particular AC power strip/cable has proper ground protection and output voltage. You never know if something is safe until you check it with a reliable tool so I think this UNI-T instrument offers a precise measurement.

I suggest the UT210E because I don't have the 210D model to check its functions and run accuracy tests. I tested that multimeter on AC plugs, power strips, and outlets through my TH-cam videos for the last 3 years.

No it doesn't support 2A DC current measurement. But the UNI-T UT210E of the video does.
