Soldier: 18 years.. what does any of it mean now? Haar: Dont say that. no matter what, im proud to have served under general shiharam. Soldier: youre right.. it was.. an honor. :(
I'm playing through the game again, and this time I got Mist and Jill up to A level support. I had Jill talk to Shiharam, and when he died, I can say that this is the first time in the eight years that I've been playing video games that I have shed tears during a game. Jill is one of the most under-appreciated and three-dimensional characters in the game. Hearing this song during that scene brought such powerful emotions to me. I felt so sad for Jill...
Poor Jill...she went through an awful lot...first thinking all Laguz are bad and finding out she has been lied to...then she has to watch her father die, while the villagers blame the crimeans and wishing they never came to Daein...she is one of few characters that developed so much...
She’s how believed a lot of the characters in the franchise should be developed. All of them kind of having their story, their narrative adding to the overall plot allowing us to connect with them more and get an insight to their personalities. If we have roughly 30-45 characters a game or whatever, I’d like to get to know at least most of them a little deeper like how we did Jill.
Greil's death was actually really sad. Usually in Fire Emblem games, when a character dies, I don't really feel anything, because I'm not really that invested in their characters. But Greil, he was a man everyone could look up to and admire...
I remember the last playthrough I had, I got Jill to talk to him after A ranking with Mist, one last conversation with no hiding or covering up between father and daughter. She accepted his sins as something he had to carry to give her the life she had... Then Soren double proc’d Adept to one round him o_O
I think this also played when you killed Jill's father. Yes, I'm pretty sure I heard it there as well. Beautiful theme, and heart wrenching at the same time. So much loss and sadness...that's what war is all about, though...death, agony, sadness, loss...makes me sad just thinking about what they all had to go through... T_T I certainly wouldn't want to go through that...you have to be strong in order to go through the war, and they had to be...strong. Sad...their lives ruined because of war..
@KaiTheYaoiFan14 Yes, I definitely remember this song after Jill's father was killed... What's even sadder is this conversation that happens while at base in the next chapter, where a nearby villager doesn't realize Ike's the commander of the Crimean army, Jill is with them, she WON'T take food offered from the Crimean army, assumes they're responsible for all of this, and vows to have her children and her children's children get revenge. YEESH! D:
@TheShadowEclipse841 I was hoping they could make jill's father the type of boss I could save from being killed, like lorenz in shadow dragon, or Tiki as well. I was devastated to realize even ike couldn't help him, ike tried so hard... even he didn't want to kill him. least ike in that fight with him critted giving him a quick and less painful death. heh the irony in that entire event.
I couldn't stand killing Shiharam. He's one of the few boss in Fire Emblem who didn't deserve to die. By the way, anyone has the convo between him and Jill (when she actually joins the enemy), I'm quite curious to read it.
in battle jill tries to tlk to him but he shuts her up an tell her to fight now they are enemies......so sad i dnt think i could have killed my father in the end
I would agree, since she was the youngest out of all of them (I think)...she lost her father, her mother, her brother was the lord of an army...so yes, I would agree, she was the bravest out of all of them...

Yeah Jill is one of the strongest side characters in the series in terms of writing.

I felt terrible about killing Shiharam. One of the most sad deaths in PoR :(.

This song is lovely. I especially love it when the piano plays.
It also plays in a scene with Haar.

man i love this theme....

This hit me in the feels.

Yeah, Jill went through a lot of character development in the game. Her supports with Haar were also hilarious xD.
MR. HAAAR!!!!!!!!
And Mist was the bravest of them all
Jill...
Awesome song from an EPIC GAME.
Maybe it's from 3 years ago, but it's still making me cry...
why is it there are so many fire emblem characters that should have joined the good guys but instead stayed with the bad guys
loyalty and duty, feodal times, after all..
Because sometimes they have to hit you with the feels...
My battle with him was epic. She went first and landed a critical then he missed and she landed another critical it was cool but sad at the same time
Sorry if someone already said this, but Rolf I believe is younger than Mist. Still, it's hard to loose people you love and care about at any age.
Shiharam
well two of your comments made it to the top comments section (congrats to that)
what about Selena from sacred stones?
Agreed. Although this comment is so old that I'm surprised people are still replying to it, haha.
