As long as the spring is not broken? This is a fix worth trying for A Wimpy Air Hose Reel-otr to Adjust Air Hose Reel Tension.
This is one thing you can try to get more tension in your air hose reel when it winds up. This can happen over a period of time or maybe you’re just changing hoses and the spring has lost its tension?
It only takes one minute so it’s definitely worth a try ! I hope this helps. It sure made me a happy camper!

I’m sure y’all can relate? simple things that seemed complicated, but aren’t…. OK 👍😎👍I know it’s not rocket science! But it had me stumped for quite a while… I will admit! ….. I was chalking it up to a cheapo reel…. And I was wrong. I went from CHEAPO to CHAMP! …. It hit me like a ton of bricks.👍 😝👍….
***You don’t have to pull the hose all the way out to do this …but I did because I like to get things out of the way then do it …instead of creating slack and loops and so on and so forth…. I’d like to get back to basics.!…. 👍K👍

You could also take the stop off and just wrap the hose on a little extra.. if it's not all buggered up.

That's a good idea. I remember putting recoil staters on small engines. Cut fingers.
I don't think you will have a problem getting to 500. You have steady growth.

I just pull it out few time and warp sound like you did I don't even take the hose out of the stop as long as you can get it around the reel. Nice tip for some one who has a week return.
