No-Cast Ghostly Footprints for Halloween

I want to downsize my Halloween display but still have some props with a "wow" factor. I saw an example of ghostly footprints the required casting foot or shoe prints in molds, but I didn't want to mess with that. I've tried to create a similar look with some fairly simple parts. I'm still working on the design and need to figure out the best way to power and control multiple prints.

Thanks. I just bought a 2x4-ft. sheet of 1/2 inch acrylic from Amazon for $150. That's not cheap, but if the size of my prints stays the same (4x9 inches), I can make 20 prints from that piece--$7.50 each. That does not include the cost of the other components, including the 1/8-inch thick acrylic covering. It would be possible to make something similar from a picture frame, as long as it was deep enough to accommodate some lights. The footprint transparency could be taped to the inside of the picture frame's glass. An advantage of the acrylic version is that it's pretty much indestructible, as well as water resistant/proof.

Are the LEDs black light or just blue/purple?

Just blue strip lights (it was a toss-up between blue or green).
