Yes we understand you don't like the Garrett Vortex. How long will you continue to bash on Garrett for? You just like to talk trash about metal detectors without even testing them out first in the field.
Non sono d'accordo con te. Lui è bravo in quello che dice . Se tu non sei d'accordo ,ho non capisci il suo intento, bè potresti aprire un canale tutto tuo e parlare dei metal detector e dire la tua , ok!
@@calabashphotography1234 Have you used the Vortex? How can you trash something with using it and testing it out first? You are judging a book by its cover. Until you get one in your hands to use maybe its best to reserve bashing it?
I didn’t hear him bashing the Vortex. I just heard him state what the popular brands have as far as features and what Garrett says the Vortex has. You can do the comparison yourself. I want to know why the folks at Garrett have omitted some features that we all use like auto noise cancellation? That in itself is one of the first things I do when I start a hunt as well as ground balancing. Not any bashing there. Just questions.
great info! I have followed you for a couple of years now and greatly appreciate the comprehensive testing of the different detectors on market. Always wait to see your videos before I purchase. WELL DONE!
I couldn’t sit idle on the sidelines and let some of these great deals on some very capable multi-frequency detectors just pass me by. So today, I just ordered my latest detector: The Minelab Xterra Elite Expedition Pack that includes the V12X Coil with Skidplate, the V8X Coil with Skidplate and the ML-85 Wireless headphones. Hands down, it was the easiest detector purchase decision I have ever made.
Talk of features had me thinking of a good video showing how using tones /tone breaks/and tone pitch is very helpful. Features i assume are not in vortex. They do have simplified programs for instance coins, but everything is notched out but coins. When coin hunting with legend I came up with a good program to hear everything, but coins will scream. This by using options that vortex doesn’t have as mentioned above as tone breaks etc… Like you said, pitch is great option for tones especially at beach where it can be hard to hear other tones even with headphones. My thoughts leading up to the introduction were that it would be a machine to compete with equinox series similar to what Nokta did with the legend.
Hi Calabash Digger, thanks a lot for continuing with your very informative videos. I´m looking forward to a comparison of the detectors in heavy iron. Regards, RüDigger
Another comment. I bought a Legend because of all the hype you presented. Yes, it has lots of features but that has to be the worse detector I have ever used in my 30 years of detecting. It was uncomfortable to swing and ID was not stable at all. The Deus 1 and 2 have the best ID in the industry. I do hunt tons also but as a coin hunter the Deus can't be beat. I wish you would put up your old videos. I used then for reference all the time.
I watch a video about the legend 2 years ago . They say our engineers are working on the iron filter . If the garrett vortex has the hardware that support new features like the legend. They will making them . If not it will be an other apex . I hope not for the comptition
I've been using a Garrett Axiom. It has automatic noise cancelling and the ability to change tones. Very surprised to see the lack of those in the Vortex!
I'm thinking of buying my first ever metal detector, and stuck between waiting for the Garret Vortex reviews to come in or just choosing between Minelab X-Terra Elite or one of the Nokta Double/Triple Scores. The Multi-IQ on the X-Terra Elite goes up to 40 KHz which I would like to have be able to hunt different types of gold coins and jewlery both on the beach and field (I don't think I will be park hunting too much) but I still can't figure out from their presentation what the highest frequency of the Garret Vortex series will be. And obviously the vortex apparently lacks some features as you and some others have talked about. What do you think?
Clearly x-ray vision so we KNOW what we're dogging.....just have to walk over it 😂If only 🤪😥 One big thing I don't understand how it hasn't been figured out yet is the ability to tell hands down foil from gold. Anf yayyyy for detecting videos again!!!! Hope you enjoyed your break ❤ 🙂
Foil and gold have very similar properties from the technology we have today. Plus both come in many shapes and sizes which doesn't help. Who knows what the future holds.
I heard a year or so ago they do have the ability to discriminate between pull tabs & gold . It is not phase discrimination. They just will not release it. Just like zero point energy,
Features are judged unless they add some...Performance will be judged just as soon as we can get one....What would really be ashamed IMO is if they made a good performing detector with no features....
@@calabashphotography1234 I can't shake the feeling that Garrett has something in the works in the 12 to 1500 dollar range that has true auto ground balance and uses their imaging coil from the 2500. Probably using some of the White's tech they own.
Thanks for all the imformation and time.Just my 2 cent XPDeus 2 Ws6master Has the most stock programs out of all the machine.and are adjustable if you want to do that and i belive you can ajust and save a program for almost all the stock programs. Thanks again.Like the photo on wall behind you especially the Eagle.
@@calabashphotography1234 Well, it's not heavy at all to me and it has all the features the Vortex doesn't. What I'm saying is that my "old" detector is outperforming the newer machines, especially Garrett. The dual target ID of the etrac and CTX are just unbeatable.
The feature I am waiting on is an on screen object shape picture. coin shape, ring shape and so on. It doesn't need to be a perfect picture, just the general shape.
Ragazzi , forse dovremmo ringraziare Calab. . Si è anche grazie a lui che nokta , xp , minelab , fanno di più e forse anche garrett farà meglio . Io credo è così
I had tone ID on my Whites XLT more than 20 years ago so that's not new.Whites was way ahead of their time.Wish they was still around they would put them all to shame .
Very few people where I am care about all the settings like you and me. I hunt with the Deus 2 and it's the best as far and features and performance. But we are not the majority. The majority of metal detector users are casual and don't want all the settings. It would only confuse them. That is who the Garrett detectors are marketed for. They are not meant for hunters like you and me. You need to stop trying to compare it to the types of detectors you like. I would prefer you make more videos on tips and tricks for the Deus 2 or other detectors you like. This comparison is a waste of time. You're beating a dead horse. You've made your point. Move on and post some useful videos. I've always support you and sent donations when you needed that. But what you are presenting now is not helpful. Show us some more way to tweak the Deus 2. You deleted all your old videos so I have no past reference mow to use for research.

Between this and the Equinox 900 how do these compare.. is the Equinox really worth double the cost?
@@LoneWolfOutdoorsChannel the 900 has more features and functions lighted keypad for night detecting, vibration mode etc.
Thanks for the explanations and insight. I now understand my machine better and can assist other people better. Please keep up the good work

Great information. Can’t wait to see the real test.
You and me both!
Glad to have him back on TH-cam
Thank you sir . Garrett still making money from the other line of metal detector . When they making less money . They will making a good machine

Five features i look for on a metal detector, multifrequency, waterproof, wireless, stable operation, lightweight

Your other video has me second guessing buying a Garrett AT Max
Why would you buy an ATMax?
Yeah, you can do a lot better for the money in 2024.
Well I wouldn't buy the at max, I see a few TH-camrs still using one, it will find stuff, I personally have legend and deus one, I love both of them
