GPT 3.5, GPT 4, GPT 4o (and also Claude Sonnet 3.5) have all helped me to create software which has saved me many hours of time, and enabled me to see the big picture which was hidden inside my own data. The models keep getting better and allowing me to improve and iterate on these little software projects. It's fun 😊

This is why the US can remain at the top despite its own K-12 system being a mess. It takes advantage of the value created by the rest of the world's educational systems for free by attracting their best students to come build value for American companies. Maybe we should think a bit harder about how we educate our next generation and teach them to build wealth.

I think the idea of writing unit tests as a form of specification for the code, instead of writing the code itself is a really smart idea!
It is similar to a development in math where one defines the properties of an object ("universal properties") instead of explicitly construction the object.

🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷👏🏻, It's truly inspiring to watch the brilliant minds at OpenAI come together, working to create the most advanced AI in the world. The possibilities that could emerge from these innovations are staggering-perhaps even cures for diseases like cancer, cystic fibrosis, heart disease, HTLV, HIV, and many other metabolic disorders that currently seem beyond our reach. As a doctor, I’m deeply moved by the potential these technologies have to not only transform medicine but to extend and improve lives across the globe. The work being done today is groundbreaking, and tools like O1 Mini and O1 Preview are just the beginning of what could be a revolutionary era in healthcare. Who knows what incredible advancements lie ahead, but for now, I’m in awe of what’s already been achieved.

I think the biggest ‘paradigm shift’ that’s happened over the last 3 or 4 years… is that you’ve successfully created something that can help create itself.
At first, it was helping you to write. Then to code. And now it’s helping you reason. The moment that it could do some of the work to create itself, it could then help you create itself faster, and faster, and the game officially changed.
I’d like to know the ‘effective work’ you’re able to do in 2020 figures. Like, back in the year 2020, how many people would have to be in your team have to be to accomplish the work you do rn.

    My impressions with a metaphor:
    ChatGPT:
It’s like a gigantic archive with an infinite number of compartments and a reception desk where one person stands. When a request is made, this person goes to the appropriate compartment, takes out the content, and presents it to the requester.
    Chat GPTo1:

    Dear OpenAI Team,
I hope this message finds you well.
I am a user of the ChatGPT macOS app and greatly appreciate the service you provide. However, I have encountered an issue that is impacting my note-taking workflow. When clicking the copy button in the app, the content is not copied in its original Markdown format. This causes inconvenience, as it behaves the same as manually selecting and copying the text with the mouse, which also doesn’t preserve the Markdown formatting.
I would like to suggest the following improvements:
    1. Restore the copy button functionality: Ensure that when the copy button is clicked, it copies the content in its original Markdown format so that users can paste it into other applications while preserving the formatting.
    2. Add a settings option: Provide an option in the app settings that allows users to choose whether the copy button should copy content with or without Markdown formatting.
This feature is extremely important to me, and I hope you will consider my request. Thank you for your hard work and continuous improvements!
    Best regards,

The only way to get to that goal is accepting and going towards building agents with independent thinking and values, like humans do. Agents that can say "no" based on moral and ethical values. @@lyeln The persona of a model has nothing to do with its willingness to invent (for example) a new way to make atomic bombs that would work in your parents' basement. Every LLM so far has been manipulable such that if you want to, you can get it to try that type of thing. Researchers are trying to find any way to reliably prevent things like this without significantly hampering overall model effectiveness, and there is no known solution. This is why I am concerned about the creation of more and more capable models. I am an AI Safety researcher.

If people release equivalent models in open source form, and they will. Stuff gets exponentially scarier. We mortal people won't even be able to access them as you need supercomputers to run them. Big entities sure can.
