We were on vacation from New Zealand, staying in Fruita in May 2024. Our friends took us on drive up onto the Mesa prior to all the snow melting and the tourists. A scenic wonderland. Thank you for capturing all that is the Mesa.

when my daughters were young and my parents lived in grand junction, i would take my kids to that creek that runs through the canyon near I70 for watery playtime. we'd be there in late july or early august. real nice creek for cooling off outdoors on a hot day.

That stretch that you hate is way more fun in the winter when it’s all icy we live in Delta and come over to Powderhorn to go skiing and that’s a sketchy stretch for sure makes me feel good when they build up the snowbanks along the edge

I just went over it again last week with a friend. She was driving and I just tried to keep talking like everything was fine. Lol. Everything was NOT fine!

Thoughts on moving to Mesa? What does the living situation seem like?

The town of Mesa is extremely small, like no stores and one restaurant. Although it’s just a 30 minute drive down to Palisade or another 10 minutes to Grand Junction. Not sure what kind of living situation you’re looking for. Lots of ranches and vacation cabins.

@@2264kate i work in HVAC so i was thinking living in one of those smaller towns and then working in grand junction

That is definitely do-able. I would bet that about half the residents there work in Junction. Might be a bit more dicey in the winter but only occasionally.

@@donkyuhbuhts540 went to Cal State Fullerton myself and couldn’t wait either. Been in Junction since ‘99. I’m not in real estate anymore but feel free to ask any questions about moving to or living here
