  • Whistler Bike Park has one of the widest range of trail difficulties in the world, with the Green Trails being the easiest of them all. With trails like 'Easy Does It', Whistler is also a beginner mountain biker's paradise. But what are all the green rated trails? I though I would take some laps and check out just what is on offer.
Trailforks info on the trails here:

Mister, have been watching your videos for a while now. Where i was to busy working, and did not have the time, now, at closing in on 56, i see that i am beginning to have what i did not have time for, some fun.. Looking to get a DiamondBack, and start riding. Have watched other videos on this park, and wondered where does a biginner start. Your taking the time to set up this video answers that question. also, fills a void that your never to old just to get out and start having fun. By your doing this, thinking of setting up a channel for people who like me are just starting out. Where to go, what to wear, a good starter bike. etc. In the end, thank you for doing this video. It means more to some of us that back silently and watch that you may never see, or know about. I would add this last thing. Never go through your day, and think your not appreciated, because you are. Thank You Kindly, SCOTTISHXPRIDE, TEXAS.

Would like your thoughts sir. Looking at a first bike, as: DiamondBack Catch 2. As i stand just a little over 6'4" and at around 260, thinking this is a good starting point. Although at the time of this writing, would really love to find something in a 29" in full suspension. Looks like though, i'll need to wait to order it, as they do not have the extra large in stock. Your thoughts? SCOTTISHXPRIDE, TEXAS.

I've been watching a lot of mountain bike videos lately.. I shattered both my wrists on a mountain bike (using it super wrong.. on a BMX track..) and I've been skiddish of MTB's ever since.. The video gives me a bit of anxiousness; but I think this one might've just sold me on at -least- giving it a try. The worst that can happen is me coming out of it and saying "Hey, I tried, it wasn't for me."

There's no shame in starting easy. No one just gets on their bike and is perfect off the line. The problem comes when you're still on those easy trails years later.

Great video. Del Bocca and Shady Acres look to be like a Blue Trail in the UK. Safe enough for beginners but fun enough for more experienced riders to warm up on or just enjoy.

Thanks for posting this. I do blues in the Seattle area but hear things are tougher up north so want to start green when I go to whistler the first time this year. This should help esp since I'm taking friends that have never ridden mountain.

Still terrified. I went biking once with my friend and ended up pressing the wrong break and going over the handle bars at quite high speed. Had to spend three days in a hospital and in a neck brace for six weeks. So yeah I don’t think it’s a sport for me, but enjoyed the video. Will be heading to whistler for skiing sometime so still nice to see what that might look like.

Awesome video, super helpful. One minor criticism: don't stop in the middle of a trail unless it is an emergency! I thought Californians were the only fools that did this, but no, I saw it plenty at Whistler too. If you need to stop, that's fine, just pull to the side.

Normal helmets are fine, full face is personal choice. I see riders on greens in full face and riders on black trails with open face. Just wear what you want and makes you feel safe 🙂

Hi Paul. Great content BTW. You mentioned guides. Any recommendations? I've have a google but can really find any. We (me, wife and daughter 13yo) are going to Whistler for the first time in Aug 2022. We are doing a 3 week trip through BC and going to Kicking Horse and Sun Peaks first for a 3 days in each then 10 days at whistler then Revelstoke on the way back to Calgary for our flight back to the UK. Can't wait.
