My biggest problem with Outlast 2 was the stamina... it just makes the chasing much more frustrating to deal with whereas you could run indefinitely in the original. They couldn't at least let you still run if you run out of stamina, you just won't be as fast like in The Last of Us Part II or Manhunt 1. That honestly would have been a better way to handle it.

Any chase theme from the amnesia or outlast series and your endurance goes up 204 percent. And you go faster. Maybe Blake couldn't hear it and that's why he hyperventilates when he runs 40 steps
That's because they are pretty much the same, just with or without some instruments or with added or removed choir. Although, in the final game, the "Cornfield Chase" from the Demo it's replaced with this one.

Technically blake originally was going to have asthma as a mechanic. So maybe he still does?
Blake runs fast as fuck (the school hallucination is the best example of it), it's normal him become tired earlier
