Valeriy has arguably the funkiest, fastest right hand on the planet. You'd think Funk was invented in Russia. And he doesn't care much about fame on the fortune side, as he seems to be happy to just hang in Moscow, not tour the world. Thankfully he's done some great collaborations like those with Martin Miller...

Absolutely one of the tightest, funky jazz-fusion performances I’ve seen ( heard)… precise - note for note and complete musical satisfaction for the listener.
In a past YT video, the late Chick Corea is in Moscow playing and Valeriy visits him on stage. The two improvise sitting together at the grand piano! Fun stuff!
Then having photos taken together on stage, Chick actually points at Valeriy as if to say, “ Your the Next!… you Da Man”!!

Long odds of that happening any time soon with our strife with Russia. And he doesn't seem to care about touring anywhere so you better look to book into Moscow in the future. thankfully we have at least him doing some great collaborations, like those with Martin Miller.

BTW, the title of the song is the name of the cellist you loved so much in Val's trio record with the cello. In Russian, Seva is diminutive for Vyacheslav. This must be a dedication to a longtime friend but I don't know the story.
And all the guys are indeed stars in their own right. Anton has quite a following and is a friend and inspiration to the incredible Mohini Dey.

My favorite keyboardist because he uses each keyboard correctly. A lot of keyboard players don't use everything available; Valeriy layers his synths with style and taste, and his composing and producing is second to none. Not to mention his God-given funkiness.
His soloing is on par with Corey, but his writing is miles beyond any other guys doing now...

Does any other drummer compare? Not to me. No disrepect to.the other world class drummers. I love Arch Echo, other drummers that Valeriy uses, and 'Sput' from Snarky Puppy.
Man I love hearing great drummers. It was my first instrument so I have a soft spot for these cats. The micro nuances that I find in the best players really sends me over the top.
