I met Billy Boyd at Fanx in Salt Lake city, Utah a few years back. You were so kind. I broke down and cried since LOTR was my biggest connection I had with my sister RIP. You gave me the biggest hug. I'll never forget it. Thank you again. Stay awesome! Hope to meet Dom one day too ❤
Being half-Iranian, I really wasn't expecting Iranian cuisine to reach the show so soon, but I'm overjoyed that it has! I'm super happy you gents enjoyed the khoresht-e karafs! And, more still, I have to thank you for this segment of the podcast. Though I discovered you gentlemen through the Lord of the Rings (and, believe me, I loved you guys there), to see you encouraging diversity and multi-cultural cuisine is heart-warming. Best of luck, lads.

I love that Dom hates baths and Billy loves them because, in The Lord of the Rings, Pippin (Billy) makes a mess in the bathroom and Merry (Dom) tells him to clean it up before he gets any dinner.
Someone needs to take some of their more surreal conversations and edit footage from LOTR to dub it so Merry and Pippin and talking about joe pescis shoes Mr wood plotting their demise lol
I'm just mid-listen to this one in the car but I had to come and watch it on TH-cam to see Billy's proper way of sitting. And that top jumper. Love you guys!
I love Dom's respect for creatures and animals. Absolutely there is no need to kill spiders. They are bros. Killing and eating other pest insects like flies and daddy long legs.
A lot of great stuff this week: the lizard story was amazing, the shower vs. bath discussion, the Eat the World segment was entertaining and informative, string theory. But what blew me away was the song at the end. The beginnings of a masterpiece
I love this podcast, don’t be put off by the themes for each week as they simply have nothing to do with what they are discussing. Thank you for being so open and welcoming with your time, I feel like I am sitting in a room with you each week.
over five hours of content now with my two favorite members of the fellowship :) Thank you so much for meeting every week to give us these beautiful insights into both of your lives. Love you and continue to keep up the good work!
I admit I don't listen to podcasts like this very often because I typically find them boring, but Billy and Dom talk about really interesting things so I really enjoy this podcast. I love the animal talk and the LOTR quizzes especially. I have always been drawn to not only Billy and Dom's dynamic, but the dynamic of the whole LOTR cast and crew--so I have seen the appendices and commentaries of all three LOTR extended versions almost as many times as I have seen the movies themselves. (Which is a LOT of times!) This podcast is almost like an extension of that, and I love it.
Just got a picture with Billy Boyd at Awesome Con and he was wearing that jumper! (I was one of the only ones in the room during the panel that knew the answer "Derndingle") It was so awesome to see you in person, Billy! Love you both and love this podcast!!
Awesome podcast! It would be great to hear you guys talk about the upcoming LOTRonPrime show or the War of the Rohirrim movie if you guys know anything about them! Perhaps I'll drop a message with SpeakPipe. Good luck with the next podcast!
I can't even describe the nostalgia -- middle school was *hard-core* Ringer time for me haha. So great to hear you're all doing so well and thanks for all the giggles! PS may I blow your mind re the knee-cap debate -- some people don't have kneecaps!
Since I am from Iran , I really enjoyed watching this episode "Khoresh Karafs" is not a popular meal in Iran too, i mean, celery is not Persians cup of tea . "Kale Pache"is one of the heaviest meals we have here in Iran and as a traditional food, it is so popular ( I, myself like it) and loathed in the same time I hope you enjoyed Iranian food Love from Iran! ❤
I'm really loving the podcast and I look forward to watching it every week. Love to hear Billy Boyd talk about voicing glen / Glenda in seed of chucky and if he would ever voice the character again if the opportunity came around especially with the tv series airing this fall. I'm a massive horror fan and I love to hear both their thoughts on the genre.
I love that little jingle, its very enduring. Also, Dom calling Billy "Bills". Don't know if anyone else enjoys that, but those are my two favorite parts of this podcast so far. Love it!
I’m at the park watching my little brother brother, listening to this, laughing my head off, and trying not to suffocate from laughing so hard. This is AMAZING GUYS!!!!
Storks don't technically have inverted kneecaps. They actually walk on their toes. And what we think of as their inverted knees are actually their heels.
Tuesday, my new favorite day! I'm recommending the podcast to my friends, a moment of entertainment and learning at the same time! I love it all very much! Kisses from Brazil, Dom and Billy! 😘🇧🇷
Darlings. This show is a delight. I look forward to it. I can listen to your accents for days! I want to have you over for dinner and just chat away. Such a comfortable hour of interesting conversation.
I enjoy their company so much so that I let their podcasts role in the background and whenever I enter the room I stay for a bit to sit with them and have a good time, I can't wait to see how their professional-gamer-help experience turns out :D
Watching this after a few brews, and what Dom says about connecting with animals is indeed quite profound. Hit me a bit more than expected and was quite insightful, just thought that deserved a shout out as the show moved on quite quickly afterwards (understandably so, and cannot in any way diminish Billy's amazing experience meeting Prince!).
I never watch/listen to podcasts but The Friendship Onion is just delightful. I love these actors and their dynamic adds positivity to my day plus I learn new things each episode. I listen on my commute to work and back home each day and it is a great way to start the day off with a positive attitude! Found out about this podcast just recently and I'm making my way through the episodes! Thank you Dom, Billy, and Production crew for this podcast!!!
How sweet you came up with the Onion on Inside of You - Michael Rosenbaum is got lightning in a jar there looks like you both caught it too! Keep up the fun and interesting conversation and we will keep tuning in!
I would love to see Dom get some Jiu-jitsu lessons from Sean Patrick Flanery! Also, I would love to see you guys go on a road trip and stay in a bed and breakfast hobbit hole somewhere! Any possibility? Love you guys!
As an iranian , I can guarantee that most iranians watching khoresht karafs in this episode have laughed off their chairs ! 🤣😂 Khoresht karafs is one of the least liked dishes among iranians and it got a high score from you guys! You could have chosen any iranian dish even one of many many many local ones but kale pache was a nice one and would have loved if you tried it! Side note : iranian food has many side dishes including sour , sweet, salty even spicy ! Dom would have liked that last one ! Loved this episode as well as others and the food was just an amazing surprise !
Since you both covered this, showers are technically cleaner than baths... but baths provide a relaxing feeling of weightlessness that can be meditative, which has its own benefits showers don't come close to. Bathing with soap (combined with the hydro-tension that allows water to cling to dirt and oils) make baths perfectly fine for frequent use (particularly if one moisturizes the skin afterward). 🛀🏽
I would love you to have Matthew Mercer on the show to talk about his amazing success with Critical Role and how Lord of the Rings has inspired his work. Plus I think the internet would explode if both of you played D&D with him for a few hours
You guys should try " Dulce de leche" from Argentina. Is one of the best sweet things in the world. Caramel should be ashamed after meeting Dulce de leche
yeh, the Nestle/La Lechera dulce de leche is quite easy to find in the States. Can find it in most national chains and international import grocery shops
I was taught jiujitsu when I was younger, and we were taught a certain phrase to describe the art that's still in my head today: "To, by using a minimal amount of force, cause the greatest possible effect without inducing any pain or injury". (or, in Swedish, "att, med minsta möjliga kraft, uppnå största möjliga effekt utan att orsaka smärta eller skada") It's a fascinating and extremely effective method of self-defense.

@@KenobiStark1 That's awesome! So glad you are enjoying the channel!!
I had a feeling you might watch this podcast! I love your videos I also look forward to them as well.
I'm here because of you no regrets already caught up in a week 😂
Do you two realize that you were born to be Hobbits. Dom's feeding of lizards and Billy's baths are just incredibly on brand for Merry and Pippin.
Even Pippin (in the books) took a long bath at Frodo's new house in Crickhollow, and Merry told him to clean his mess 😂.

Nothing makes me happier than knowing that Dom and Billy are just great pals in real life
I often chuckle and enjoy myself throughout each of these. “He wants us dead” got me to laugh out loud. 😂
Ha, ha! I was wondering how they got to "Joe Pesci's Kid's Shoes"... But they even went further.
I’m Scottish and I don’t kill spiders, even now living in Australia with all the Shelob things everywhere. 😱
Those aren't spiders those are killer arachnids from space that's my only explanation
Lol, saw the story on the news of the Scot who had a huntsman in his car while driving!
As soon as I started the podcast, I waited for Billy's really high and ear-breaking laughter
and I wasn't disappointed.
Every time I hear it, I think about his scream when they had the dragon fire work in the tent during Bilbo's party.
@@kittyallen5294 yeah! That high pitched scream, omg hahahha.
They are sitting on a field of victory, enjoying a few well-earned comforts. The khoresh karafs is particularly good!

Absolutely there is no need to kill spiders. They are bros. Killing and eating other pest insects like flies and daddy long legs.
Daddy long legs are not pests. They actually keep black widow's away as they can kill them. They catch hundreds of flies and bugs that are pests.
@@kaberle7 That's true. I actually meant to say that they were helpful so thanks for the correction!
@@kaberle7 I think only False Black Widows occur in the UK as well so maybe that isn't too useful here.
