Alright Dave, a couple of things reminded me of escapades I've had around that area. The first one was me and my mate ended up going down some cleft in the rocks with three dogs who were absolutly shitting themselves as well as yours truly to get down from Glaramara and the light was cutting in too. My mate still insists to this day that we went the right way but I'm having none of it.
The other was when my sole came off my boot descending Grains Ghyll last year after doing Great End then the next week a sole came off my other pair of boots, not fun when you have 3+ miles back to the car.
I like your vids as they aren't sugarcoated and you can feel your pain as your feet give way on loose rock. (I've been there). New Subscriber and watching all your vids from the beginning, Well done on completing all the Wainwrights including outliers, reckon I've got 99 to do.

Cheers lad, aye i was a bit stupid on here but learned a great deal from this walk.. ive never allowed to be put in such danger since.. i knew there was a path down glaramara but barely researched it and believe it or not i dont know what i was thinking but i did actually descend down the waterfall.. it looked like a path from the top and as i got deeper into it i found i didnt have the energy to go back up so continued down (i was glad to be out of the strong wind i think is where my mindset was at).. i possibly should have called mountain rescue in heinseight but couldnt bare the ridicule i anticipated so a few dangerous moved i managed to get to the bottom of the fall.. take care lad, thanks for watching :)

    True adventure ... well done
My wife and I once watched the sun go down on Glaramara with an inversion filling all the valleys. As light fell, we decided not to take your route (down Capell Gill) but went to the north to get over Thorneythwaite Fell. However we missed one of the 90 degree turns and ended up walking onto Raven Crag before retracing our steps and finding the path in the dark (with torches).
    Easily done !!

yea I was very inexperienced here.. the power of the wind this day made me just want to get the heck out of it even if it was an unconventional decent, to this day I've not experienced anything like it.. it put me off ever going back to Glaramara but I need to soon to complete my full Wainwright series haha. Thanks for watching :)

Really felt your pain at the end , wasn't great conditions on great End either . Well you definitely are a " Mountain Man " to endure that & come out at Seathwaite Farm in one piece . Hats off to you from me , David Thompson , Mark Salmon and our members our Group The Cumbria Walkers of Carlisle .

I thought I would give your other Gladamara video a watch to see if it looked any easier and you comment at the top of 'It's been an absolute bloody nightmare' did not instil confidence! I was hoping to watch your decent but fair play, the conditions were not the best in which to film. It 'looked' like you came down the Hind Gill route which is marked on OS maps but I have had very extremely experienced walking friends who say it is an absolute mare to come down, so good to see you made it safely, cheers Alan

i was very inexperienced here, i have not experienced wind like this.. i planned to come down hind gill but i couldnt see the path so i went down into a gully that looked like a path and got me out of the wind and as i walked down further i realised this isnt a path, its a bloody waterfall.. looking back i was extremely stressed and thats when bad decisions are made. yea youve got to await a perfect condition day for glaramara, i will return one day and hopefully make a video on the summit where i can stand up haha :)
