Spinets are usually less than $1000

@@sarahkraus8247 Incorrect. They didn't restore the body, reshape the hammers, go over the action, tune , and offer delivery on it for $1000... I would be curious what their price on this is, but I'm guessing around $2500?

@@Jimmy-rd5ig who would even pay that much for an instrument not worth that much new? Spinets were made to be cheap so poor families could still practice

@@sarahkraus8247 It doesn't need to make sense. It's just business. Think about it from a business standpoint. If you put all that work, labor and materials into a piano, you will get it back or way or another. Or else you will be out of business. This is how it works. Someone that doesn't know anything about pianos walks in. They see grand pianos at $10k+. Baby grands at $5k plus, etc. They tell the salesman they want something on a budget. He shows them these beautiful looking fully restored spinets. Tells them ithas a good sound, good feel, American made, etc. They are also the cheapest priced pianos in the store. The customer doesn't know any better and buys it on the spot. It may get played, or may not. But it will be sold. Not every consumer does their research and they are good for business.

@@Jimmy-rd5ig that's called scamming people, plus music stores sell consoles for $800 so I really don't think so. Plus it takes a lot of time to restore a piano but not a lot of money, depending on what's being replaced. Doubt they payed a lot to restore that spinet anyways.

Yikes. No one should sell or buy a spinet piano. They don’t work and they sound awful.

Don't buy Kimballs......low end, not good sound. See how 'cheapo' this one sounds???? Compare to an Acrosonic (Baldwin) spinet and you'll hear right away why Kimball sucks.

Just recently got a Whitney kimball console piano and it sounds fantastic I don’t hear the problem...

A good example as to why you never EVER focus on just brand. Every brand sounds different and each piano is made with different ways and different material. Of course there are brands that are better than others, but even so, every single piano can do its own dance beautifully when the pianist is dancing with it in harmony.
