  • The witcher finally reached Philippa, but did not expect to see what he did. Fitz-Oesterlen and Radovid were present in the cell, and the king was taking revenge on the sorceress for years of humiliation he suffered as a powerless, underage heir at her, a powerful regent's, hands. Radovid had Philippa's eyes put out and tormented her in a way not becoming anyone, especially of a king. When the tormentor left, Geralt saw his chance. He revealed himself to press Shilard for information about Triss... Watch more Witcher 2 videos: bit.ly/RTs7x4.

      To be fair, its mentioned in lore that these mages are incredibly gifted. There are local witches and holy people, common level mages, advanced ones, and the ultra advanced. Phillippa was ultra advanced. They can all (except really for triss) withstand a lot of pain. Triss is weaker as she is "allergic" to magic, so she can't use it on herself. The mages also tend to be very logn lived, (except for triss), they mostly have personality disorders, and in their long lives many have become somewhat detached from the world. Pain doesn't matter, but achieving what they wat does.

      Neutral Boy That is true. And I am not saying he is crazy just because he kills mages. He kinda has a reason to do so since he believes mages killed 3 out of 4 Northern kings. But the scene where he wants to kill Geralt is totally out of character. Geralt helped him many times and did some dirty work for him, such as destroying Salamandra and Whoreson which he used before but then wanted to get rid of him, finding Phillipa and bringing him Anais. It just feels so dumb that he would want him dead.

      You've missed the point behind Radovid in the Witcher 3. It's not that HE can't tell the good witches from the bad, its that the witch hunts have become a powerful force in mobilizing the population towards his cause, which contributes to how effective he is able to fight Nilfgaard so he just kind of lets them happen. Radovid has become quite one dimensional character in Witcher 2 and especially 3.
    For example if he just wanted Philippa tortured to death, but not to end every single magic user, he would have been more symphatetic. Commiting vengeance is quite rightful, magecide not.

      Thomas de Quincey sorry for the late reply, but if you did the megascope quest with cynthia, you'll find out that the mage cardiun had plans with radovid to reinstate the conclave in redanian after the delegations of loc muine. Well that all ended when fitz osterlen and letho framed the conclave and the lodge of the recent regicides along with philippa sending a dragon to the fucking peace summit essentially sealing their guilt in the eyes of the north.

    I thought Yennefer was quite unlikeable in TW3. That is, until I remembered how much I hated Philippa. The game should've had the option to kill her. It would've been much more satisfactory than the one made for Eredin. Radovid in TW2 was logical and sane. He had legit reasons to hate Philippa. But then they turned him into a madman in TW3 just to make us pity Philippa and to feel justified in letting her kill him.

    • @quilliamattari2772
      @quilliamattari2772 7 ปีที่แล้ว +22

      I still kinda supported Radovid in his crusade against the witches. And I fail to understand why people even like Philipa, she's a horrible person. And these witches should be contained as they can bring about dangerous events from which they take advantage. Though Radovid should have only targeted those witches caught in such conspiracies and not every witch as some are good.

    • @kwazooplayingguardsman5615

    • @vanguard-pv5mc

      +Quilliam Attari At least from where I'm coming from it's less liking Phillipa and rather not considering her specifically to be loathsome or dangerous enough from Geralt's point of view to warrant any serious concerted effort to kill her. Phillipa Eilhart is basically a mid-carder antagonist who has dreams of being a political manipulator but when you look at her track record, apart from killing Vizimir most of her schemes wind up failing or end up being used by more dangerous antagonists like Emhyr and Vilgefortz for their own purposes. Like make no mistakes here Phillipa Eilhart is a terrible person, but compared to the real monsters of the franchise like Leo Bonhart, Vilgefortz, Radovid and Henselt she's out of her depth, and I find her a less credible threat. This is probably similar to how Geralt views her, he doesn't like her no, but he's got much bigger fish to fry and can't be bothered to focus on someone who has been reduced to a bit player in all of this.
