    Jon, once again you delivered, and for absolutely nothing in return. I’m sure I speak for many of us when I say your content is amazing, and we appreciate you.

    Jon thanks again for an amazing camp. Your ability to speak off the cuff with the detail and conciseness of a script is second to none. The techniques were amazing but that first class, about keeping distance, breaking posture from there, and staying angled, was the biggest eye opener for me and is what I'll be focusing on as a fledgling blue belt. Just an absolute pleasure and privilege having you in our gym. Hope you felt welcome and wish you the very best, be it competing or continuing to spread knowledge about this amazing sport

    Awesome video as always. Distance control is so huge. Mikey talks about how if your opponents foot, on your dlr hook side, is past your hip, there’s not enough space. That’s my trigger to start to back up

      Yeah distance is so powerful bro just in DLR but honestly in every guard.

    This is one of the best instructionals yet, and bolos are super fun but a lot is happening. This makes it the least confusing!

    really nice job teaching the basics of the berimbolo. it is not an easy position to teach but i think you did a great job in making it beginner friendly.

      Such a difficult topic to explain, but the foundations of knocking the opponent over is so critical.

    Such an incredible teacher. Would you say creating distance like this is as important in collar sleeve? I think I'm generally quite concerned about over extending my legs in guard because I'm worried about the torreando. Would you still aim to create distance with you legs in this way?

    • @JonThomasBJJ
      @JonThomasBJJ  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely it’s huge in collar sleeve, I’ll do a video soon overviewing it. If you create so much space there will usually be an Omoplata or triangle opportunity and if you control the sleeve and have good free leg position you won’t have to worry about the Toreando.
