- A rare extended version of Ruby. After knocking over the seed tray - which I'd just replenished - she made sure to pick up even the slightest piece of evidence. "What birdseed? I don't see any birdseed..."
I'm starting to think she's being fed by someone around here. The "Please, sir, I want some more" look is a dead giveaway. Mark Lester would be jealous.
I'm gonna run out of birdseed at this rate. Oh well...
When I get overwhelmed🥺 and sad, feeling all is lost in this world… I come back to your porch, take a deep breath, laugh and cry a little. Thank you Patrick. May God bless you & your precious ones… including the extended bear🐻 family. 🙏🏼

She's a lot calmer than she was last visit. Also love how, when you're calling to "Cocoa", Ruby doesn't even look in your direction. And she's pretty gentle with that hose. And the looks she gives you are very sweet. She's won me over!

Yes but if you go to a fast food place or even the park you will see plenty of wrappers/napkins/drink containers left by humans who had a trash bin 6 feet within their reach. 🙄

Wow, what a beautiful bear. She seems so relaxed and doesn't even flinch when you cough. I do believe someone is feeding her pretty regular. Her eyes looked so gentle and almost begging for seconds. Great video.

A bear being relaxed does not automatically mean any person is feeding them. Bears in this area are not usually harassed by the neighbors so it is only natural they are somewhat at ease with people.

I love watching Ruby and Simone do their best to maintain porch privileges. Ruby tried pretty hard not to knock over the bird feeder, so, she obviously understands that disturbing Patrick’s stuff is a no-no. However, the bird seed itself is fair game.
Ruby looked at Patrick several times to make sure Patrick didn’t disapprove of what she was doing. That’s pretty darn sophisticated thinking!
Thank you for sharing these moments with the bears 👍🐻 they are so gentle, with kind eyes..respectful. Ruby is really healthy too, with her shiny coat. Beautiful bear😍 they use their paws as tools. Sometimes they almost look human when they stand on their hint feet. Without videos like these, we would never have an opportunity to watch them doing bear things !

Ruby is ever so sweet and lovely. The way she sits down, and looks at you with those kind and gentle eyes of hers, reminds me of my former bunny rabbits who would do the same thing whenever their treats has been reduced to mere crumbs. Of all your bears, Ruby is the most likely to walk up to you and request tummy rubs. She's adorable! PS: I wouldn't have the heart to chase away any of them. Not even with two squirts of water.

What I find amazing is that none of these bears shows the least bit of aggression towards you even while they're EATING! You would think they would try to keep you far away from where the food is and try to make you back off, but no...while they do acknowledge you, they still just go about their business as if your just another fixture of the porch!

IKR. I'm still trying to process that, how at ease they are around him.
Bear know they are taking his food so showing respect is normal in bears mind.
It is amazing how much more docile they become with each generation in order to adapt to the presence of humans in their environment.
Patrick you made me giggle when you apologized to Ruby for cursing. We all know she's just doing what bears do. But she's obviously eating a diet rich in fats, seeds, suet, because her coat is shiny and beautiful.

@@seasonsofphilly1993 His soft non threatening voice is part of what the bears respond to and find appealing... Animals get unnerved by sounds easily, I have observed, probably because they can hear much better than we do.
Wow .. look at that beautiful, shiny coat! That's what happens when animals eat real food. It's really sad for all the domesticated pets who get fed manufactured pet food garbage. When I switched my dog to an all raw food diet .. like animals in the wild eat .. his hair got so shiny and pretty .. his grey hair went away, his eyes got bluer and sparkly, his teeth got whiter, and he got all his energy back from when he was a puppy. I watched him literally grow younger. It was amazing to see! I took him for a walk at the park once, and someone asked me, "How old is your dog?" When I replied "9 years old" .. the person said, "Wow, he looks so young." Thank you God for all the fresh, real food that you provide for us and the animals. : )
@@spymaine89 .. I'm not sure I understand your comment. When people feed their pets REAL, fresh food .. raw fruit and veggies, raw nuts and seeds, raw greens/lettuces .. and even raw meat .. they get SUPER HEALTHY and don't need to go to a veterinarian anymore.

Couldn't agree more! All the processed pet food with preservatives and crap is killing our pets! And it doesn't even resemble the diet that their ancestors ate, which is very disturbing. I buy my cat good quality meat, none of that dry food.
@@choupette_44 You're absolutely right. Gotta do your research and make sure to buy free-range, organic meats from smaller farms. I try not to support factory farming as much as I can. It's an abomination.

My sister's bird feeder gets rummaged through/destroyed by the moose that live around her lake. (And, yes, I agree - Ruby must using some product to gussy up her coat shine even more than before.)
Then you’ve never had bird feeders in bear county. They LOVE sunflower seed.
My sister doesn't have a bird feeder anymore cause the bears destroyed it lol.

@@zoicadumitru5063 - My thought exactly. Patrick: I used to have that cough too, a smoker’s cough caused by COPD. Please change to vaping and use the vaping to slowly taper to 0 nicotine. It works great! You can make the vape liquid yourself to get the perfect intervals for YOUR tapering. I was lucky, I was down to 0.0018 (nearly nothing) when I suddenly had a heart attack and that made me go to 0 nic and now I have vaped a little (no nic) once the past year and this august it was 6 years since I took the last cig! My cough has luckily disappeared, but I have A-Fib and have had pleuritis and pericarditis around 10 times (they think it is rheumatic - no fun though!)! 🤗👏👏👏👍

We only once in a while get a rogue bear that’s traveled too far. Mostly deer and bobcats and of course the stinky skunks like the one that showed up last night!! Have a peaceful day!
