We had an experience like that with wild possums when I was a kid. Our balcony was a dominant female's territory. She got fruit snacks from us. It was HER spot and she defended it. When she had babies, as soon as they were large enough, she would leave the babies with us and go off and fight off the other possums trying to encroach on her territory unencumbered with little ones. At one point she got a serious injury (probably a dog bite) and she let my mother treat the wound. They are not dumb most of these animals, they learn who their friends are. Just have to remember that they are wild animals and have powerful ways of defending themselves. Always treat with calm respect.
This guy is going to end up getting these bears killed. Game Wardens will shoot them. When a predator loses its fear of humans, you sign it's death warrant
Looks like you're going to have your hands full this season with those big mischievous babies! Especially if Mama keeps using you as a daycare center while she chills under a bush! 😂
Looks like the cubs have grown into the moody teenager phase! 😂 "No birdseed? Ugh, FINE! I'll just eat this chair!" Thank you as always for sharing them with us. 💜🐻
Simone's saying, 'Hey, Patrick, could you watch 'em for a few minutes for me?' 😂🐻🐻 It's just incredible, to see natural bear behavior right in your own yard - I'd smile all the time! 😍
That's a good question (the haters) but we have seen Simone visiting another friendly neighbor, "Dr.MichaelRuiz" Please view and see Simone has discovered plentiful flavored grass and buds.
How cute! Cubs are practicing there "scary bear" act. I'm glad you understand that and stayed calm. They practice there bluff charge and you just laughed. Adorable trouble makers. Simone is looking for a babysitter, she has had enough😁
Hi Patrick. Your videos are heartwarming. The structural integrity of your porch is something to behold 😂. Your calm, welcoming disposition is soothing to the soul. Thank you for your videos and your blessed friendship with these bears.
The Bears are back! Hi Patrick. So great to see your back. Spring has definitely sprung ❤️ I love the way momma bear sat back to watch her Cubs. Just like a parent watching her kids at the playground 😄🌺
My blood pressure has been extremely high the past few days just an hour or so of watching these bears seems to have brought it down very calming to watch
I love how Simone is just chillin' while her kids are runnin' amok. I like your videos because it gives us a chance to see their beautiful faces. They truly are lovely. I love the eyes.❤
They came to play with you!!! Simone told them, "Go play with Uncle Patrick!" And she showed you that it was play time. What a blessing to have your heart attached to theirs! After today's video you posted, I'm sure that was Luca coming back 'home" to their safe happy place!
I was just thinking about them yesterday. How neat to see them again this year. And they remember you hang the bird feeder up. So smart. The babies are growing so big. Thanks for sharing.
This is so fascinating. Simone clearly likes your house. She feels it is safe enough for her and her cubs. The cubs are big and beautiful. Simone did a great job.
Happy Spring, Patrick, Simone, Luca, and Milo! Is that Luca that can't decide whether she wants to stay or go and chewing on the chair? Nice to see everybody again. 🌻🌳🌼🌹🌿🌸🌲
I was worried when only one of the “cubs” was following Simone at first. What a great success, Patrick! The family visited you! I would swear that the cub on the porch knew that you were scolding him, not threatening him. I think the cubs remember you - especially after getting your scent up close.
That was my impression too: They remember Patrick AND they respect him - while testing a little bit, if it is okay for him, when they do their "bear-things". 🤭😉
@@lauraj.4054 - Well put! I agree. I think Milo in particular is testing limits. I think Milo is a gentle bear with good intentions, but he’s a juvenile, so he’s testing to see what is acceptable and what isn’t.
Patrick your videos are so entertaining to watch. I love the trust the bears have over you and how you just sit back and watch them. Bears are known to be very unpredictable and can turn even if you get friendly with them. I admire your courage in making these videos to show us your relationship with them. Well done and thank you
Wow! Simone's cubs are about half the size of her now. I loved those close ups. They've gone from innocent toddlers into mischievous pre-teens. All that "no" reminds me of raising my daughter. She had to touch everything! I'm glad to see that they are healthy and came back!
Oh how I’ve missed the three bears 🐻🐻🐻 I wonder how they treat the other neighbors because they’re definitely cool with you. Mom lets her babies explore freely 💕 she even let you discipline them 🤣🤣😂
Wild animals have a way of showing their separate personalities!! They remember where it is safe to check things out. Boundaries are important so they do not get carried away; at least while you are sitting there! Great experience to watch!
Simone, Goddess of the Rotund 🙂 She and the cubs look great. She didn't bat and eye when you scolded the cubs, pretty amazing especially considering she hasn't seen you all winter. I'm glad to see that everyone made it through the winter and look forward to more summer vacation home movies!
🐻🧸🧸 Thats such a joy and heartwarming to see Simone playful with her cubs. Wow! The one cub loves her mommy and Simone is a good mommy she doesn't reject the playtime, she entertains her cubs. That's so wonderful to see.
OMg, Milo and Luca have gotten SO big over their long winter's nap! It's so precious how the one cub is still so shy, and Simone is just happy as a lark grazing in the yard and dreaming of fresh berries and veggies. I can't get enough of these videos, and I'm literally just on the other side of the mountain here in Tennessee, but I haven't seen a single bear this year as of yet. I barely have any bunnies in my back yard this year so far, and I usually have at least 8 or so by now.
Those cubs have grown. Thank you for sharing them with us. It's beautiful to watch them and see how they behave in such a calm atmosphere on your porch. Happy to see them thrive.
Oh, my the cubs are just HUGE! And technically still 'babies' according to the calendar. Clearly Simone continues to take excellent care of them. A little shyness that leads to a healthy fear of humans does show respect, and that is a GOOD thing!
How exciting to see Simone, Milo and Luca back visiting their favorite porch. All three look well and full of energy. Simone's fur is looking as beautiful as ever. The cubs have certainly grown and are still curious about their Uncle Patrick. Simone was so relaxed while her cubs checked out the porch. Wonderful to see you setting boundaries with these growing boys. This video was such a treat to see for this week. Looking forward to many more sightings. Thanks for sharing, as always!
The good Lord has given the bears a safe place with nice lush green grass on your property so you can watch over them while they play. You have clearly been blessed. They will never forget you...generations will keep coming around....they feel safe ❤️🐻

Is the first cub to come close to you Milo? Sure was "talking" to you today. Loved the sound. I think the cubs were checking to see if you were as firm with limits and boundaries after hibernation as before it. And they got their answer. Yes, Uncle Patrick is still loving, but firm with the same limits and boundaries. So heartwarming that they still feel comfortable and safe getting close to you, but still are cautious as they should be. And amazing to see that your vocal discipline of the cubs did not make Simone think of you as a threat. Shows she trusts you a lot and respects you. She looks so healthy and beautiful.
It’s so amazing how the bears visit you and enjoy your presence.. It’s nice to know they’re not threatened by you and you have such a beautiful relationship with them. You get to watch them grow up into adult bears it’s just amazing how mommy trust you and she trust you with her babies also .❤❤❤

I'm so glad that you were able to record the "attack" on mommy !!! That is priceless! It reminds me of back when I was little and my Mother would play around when my brother and I would run up behind her when she was doing dishes or cooking. We'd run up behind her and yank open her apron strings! We'd run but she'd always catch us and she'd start tickling us! Such good memories...I wish I could go back to those years again!
