      Times are changing! I had a kid asking me for help because he didn’t know where to plug his laptop into his car. It was an old Nissan with carburetors haha. He had no clue.

    hey Jack just let you know there called starter generator and yea the gas tank seen better days,if you have any questions about your Cub I can help you out i know a little bit about them. oh and it also looks like the clutch is new as the coil.

    You just need a good resistor. I had ran one like this four years. My Pop’s set me up. It was a coil out of a 77 Chrysler New Yorker 440 bb.

    Man your starter issue reminds me of my 57’ Ford 5N. Thing just runs through starters I just pop start it at this point.

    You don't need specific knowledge to work on them if you know the basics. Air Fuel Spark.
    For the tank you can line them with fuel resistance coatings... or put a bladder inside of them if the casing has rusted too much and gotten thin.
    The starter switch is a great fix, never need to look for the key/screwdriver/etc.

    Looks like you have the correct muffler laying on that chair , you need to turn that exhaust elbow down and to the right to took that muffler up. Then the muffler bolt to that plate sticking out over it through the hole in the plate.

    Hopefully you're good at sourcing valvespring specs and a good welder that can build and Hardface weld a cam for more power and speed .

    You should have that starter rebuilt. That classic patina mate. Save it :)

      I’ll keep it and rebuild one day. It’s been messed with internally so i think the armature is damaged.

    You can get a rebuild kit for 12 dollars. Bearings, 2 contacts and bam. Will work perfect.

    You can buy a resister You can mount up they’re like 5-10$ at autozone

      The resisted coil is about 20 bucks and then i won’t have extra wiring, but yes an external resistor is another option

    Still wondering if you seen the pics of my 78 bowlens that im putting turbo on lol. Started it about 8mnths ago. Have oil cooler and a pump since the old boys really dont and all to make it work. Just havent got any further. Nervous to even go to far on it cuz like you said some of these old school tractors in good shape are fetching 3k/5k$. Mine being built in the state i live in and firing off no issue is cool but who really actually cares and buys em u know lol.

    Being that old it will need some work. It is very savable. What happen to the tunnel between the seat and steering wheel? Looks like some one cut out a creeper gear.

      I think it was cut to access the driveshaft coupler.

      @@JackCecil That is common on these. You could bolt a plate it in there to clean it up, and you would have access to it later. On that later series cubs there is a cover that unbolts right there.
