    Hi, I'm Sharon watching from France were we now live, but originally from Wales UK. watching intently as I am getting ready to start 6 quit big projects that I've never done before.

    If I’m solid gilding and distressing a pair of chairs and I want to replicate the look of bole under the leaf, what paint color would you suggest from the one step line? Or would you suggest using gesso, milk paint, and then the leaf for a more authentic look?

    If you wax over gold leaf then the gold leaf sealer is not needed?

    • @amyhowardathome
      @amyhowardathome  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, as the wax should be the last step.

    It's bole (bowl), just the way it is spelled. Not boul, which sounds like boulle. Boulle is a completely different inlaid finish technique for furniture, named for Andre Charles Boulle, who made it popular in the 17th century. You have nearly 40,000 subscribers who are going to think it's pronounced boul. Thank you for the information. Hate to be the "language police", but this is an important one, as it distinguishes between two entirely different furniture finishes that should not be confused.
