Hi jimmy, great video! Just wanted to ask how the xpel stealth ppf has been holding up after all this time? Ive been thinking abt getting the same for my new vehicle. Thanks!
Will get same color R1T.... might do same but only after having it for enough time to know its the truck I love for life... this helps reselling but obviously you never get that cash back. Love the stealth look. And must be great feeling it will look the same 8 years from now. More important in salt road winter weather climates for sure.
I went with the stealth ppf from xpel here in Southern California from a very reputable shop for my Type R and spent about the same with the tint as well. It is costly but if you’re going to want to have your car looking new vs getting scratches every time you wash and drive it especially on a car like the Rivian then it’s definitely worth it. As far as longevity goes we will see how it holds up on my type R
looks great! have wondered about the need to apply ceramic coating and film; if you've spend $$$ to install ppf, then nothing wrong to spend more $$$ for an added layer of water repelling properties.
I have the same color reserved, really love the matt finish. I will probably tint both light bars as well. I'll probably use the same place, I'm in CO.
Hi Jimmy, euc rider here. Truck look soooo good!! I am trading my Tesla M3 for 2022 Tesla S (blue) in transit. Yes, I will do PPF in my new car with matte finishing. Thank you for your video. A lot of great information about PPF protection!
There are a couple TH-cam channels who sent their Rivian PPF vehicle to detail shops to have it reviewed. Seemed like aftermarket was the way to go as there were some bubbles and creases in the rivian ppf
Just the ppf material is about 2k and just the ceramic coat liquid is around $900 throw in the rest of the consumables at around another 300-400 almost 50% of that cost is just in material. Throw in 40-50 hrs of labour at what I'm assuming to be $100 ph and it sounds like he got a pretty good deal
Can you review a scooter called Yume S10? I'd love to hear your opinion on it, there's not many reviews on it. I'm also thinking about buying that scooter. I always love your reviews on e-scooters and I think your review on it would be amazing!
Looks much better. Scratches and keeping clean it's my dad's thing. He'll have to see this. 🤣 As far as gloss or matte depends on the color. The green shiny looked alright. Just can't get used to the looks of those trucks though, sorry. I hope your EUC was charging on the way there, if that's a thing it can do? ✌️
Great video as always. Great truck and great job with the PPF and ceramic. However, I would have taken the chance with the Rivian option though. Apparently Rivian customer care is second to none and the PPF would go hand in hand with the vehicle warranty I would assume. I like having one point of contact (one throat to choke) whenever I can. What could I do the $3k I would have saved as well.
Yeah, I tried contacting Rivian several times and had no luck. It was pricey but sure glad I got it before this last Labor Day camping trip. That self healing really works!
@@howardfreedman4289 well, customer service was always very responsive for all my issues. No one seemed to have any info on the XPEL program when I called.
Thanks for this video! I'm actually paying even more, getting full UV on all glass and more tinting, for South Florida. Question for you on the RIVIAN badges. Did your guys take them off, and put the same ones back on, or did they buy a new kit from Rivian? My guy is saying it's tough to get them exact unless he buys the kit. thx
Beautiful vehicle! I was wondering if you already have a few scratches which might be a bit too deep for a buff to remove, could this material “fill in” scratch grooving?
Its basically a 3M film like what we had on out text books at school its nothing more it will help like Jimmy said with medium scratches and heating it will is the similar to stetching it so they will disappear. Is it worth it yes if you have the funds :)
Got my car done in expel stealth too. I’m looking at getting a chemical coating now for hydrophobic properties. Any reason why you went with ceramic pro ? Expel has thier own line for stealth wraps
@@freshlycharged of course man! Love to check it out if I’m ever in the area. Probably one of my top 2 favorite EV’s- and my favorite if price was no option.
Nice video! So just to clarify, did you opt out of the ppl that Rivian offers? I realized you had a private shop apply ppl as well. Wasn’t sure if you did half and half…that’s what I plan on doing.
@@freshlycharged ok. So I added that option on my order for my R1S (front only). Figured I’d have the rest done by a local shop. $1500 for the front was pretty hard price to beat. I was quoted between $8 to $10k in the Bay Area for the whole vehicle.
Do they have to remove and reinstall the emblems? If so, were they able to save them or had to buy the new ones? Maybe they cut around the emblems?? LMK.
Matte finish looks awesome, but i think it’s a bit too much $ for what it does. Very labor intensive driven cost. Makes me think someone with proper cutting tools and halfway decent skills could apply coating themselves.
Holy crap that’s expensive. No matter how far you park from people, some clunker will park next to you and hit your vehicle when they open their door, so maybe this will work. But will it protect you from the Tesla haters you see that love keyying electric cars? Hopefully this helps too. Curious though if other truckers would coal another truck.
Wow do Tesla haters actually key them? Sounds like electrifying the vehicle’s body when parked might be a deterrent. Once the key gets down to metal, the jerk becomes ground!
Haha, not only the key but you will get electrocuted too. Don’t ask me how I know, I once connected a battery charger backwards as a teen, when I sat on the seat with my leg touching the frame, my body vibrated with electricity and I almost killed myself! Same with the NY subway, no need to touch them with keys to shock you.😎
@@customer7575 lol! Yeah it was a toaster, a stuck piece of bread and a knife for my shocking experience! I wonder if that was because some paints have metal flecks in them? I don’t know

I love it. I talk about it in my most recent Rivian video… th-cam.com/video/d2771JTMFBc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Zovg2vxyaOmsrRLm
@@freshlycharged thats great to hear that its held up well.
Thanks for responding and keep up the great work!
The matte finish looks great. You see the nice lines of the truck so much better.
Thanks! Love the finish, and after this weekends off roading adventure, the PPF did the job!
I agree must be nice to have this guy's money. Lol
Excellent video. Thank you for showing the price because a lot of TH-camrs tell you everything about the subject and totally leave out the price.
My pleasure!

Love the matte look much better than gloss. Hope it holds up well for you. 😀
That’s actually a really good price for Xpel Stealth, ceramic coating, and window tint.
That looks fantastic; very informative. Hope to do this to my future Rivian, which I am patiently saving for!
Matte looks good on the truck. Glossy works for the car!

Do it! They offered the tint for the lights but I passed on it. Would love to check it out!
Still looking great after one year I hope! Amazing looking truck!!
Love your r1t with the ppf impact on the color. Is that the El Cap or Silver color ? Thanks.
My local Ceramic Pro dealer price matched Rivian/Xpel deal for $4,500 (Kavaca Matte or Gloss) fully wrapped, 12 yr warranty.
I can only imagine what it would cost to do an R1S! But, it's a nice job!
