    I will go further into studying the Z50 astro raw files looking at image quality, noise etc when I do the D750 vs Z50 video. If you were starting out in photography and looking at vlogging, landscape, astro, street or architecture photography. I think this Z50 and Viltrox 13mm makes for a good low budget combo 💫📸⭐

    That was really cool, Adrian! I was planning on doing Astro with the Viltrox 13 but we had many clouds during the new moon. Astro is my weakest photography genre so I really want to get out and work on getting better. Thanks, Adrian!

      Thanks for watching Phil. I'd like to see the astro shots you'd get with the Viltrox on your Z50 or Zfc cams. Yes, cloud and rain was 100% here for a week, hence why I had to go out a little earlier with the Waning moon still out at 3am. Have a great weekend Phil, cheers 📸🙏

    Adrian that was fantastic! Loved that pano looks awesome and the one with you in it was also amazing. Just when you arrived I can see what looked like ice buildup on top of your car 🥶 geeeeez. Have a great week my friend and Thank You for putting yourself through that freezing cold to bring us this awesome review. 👏🙏🏼📸

    OMG 3am! That hurts. Great to see that combination in action and looks like it can do the job nicely. Good to practise too even if the conditions weren't ideal, so that you are ready when they are. It's great to see all the apps you use too in preparation. Thanks for sharing.

      Thanks for watching Peter. I'm pretty impressed by this little Z50 with this lens. Lots of applications, but a lot of fun for astro. Yes, I'm looking forward to seeing the Z50 and D750 raw files compared. I also did the Z50 vs Z7 for full moon shots for that video too. Lots to cover. Have a great weekend mate, cheers 📸🙏

    A fantastic video, Adrian! This "3am thing" (in most cases even much earlier) is exactly the reason why I don't do all too much astrophotography, haha :)
    Your shots got really awesome, especially that one where you are holding the fishing lamp in your hands. Really nice!
    Thanks for sharing and enjoy your weekend,

    Great test Adrian, have to agree about the planning before going out to capture the milky way. Great capture and setup - nice work in PS. Been out to capture the Milky Way but didn't work out very well because of the light pollution even thou we thought there was no light around. Many thanks for sharing your work :)

    Great video Adrian. Really looks like a great budget lens and looks like it performed pretty well for these astro shots. I really enjoyed seeing your planning process, especially since I haven't done much astrophotography before. The 9-shot pano was pretty amazing despite the little bit of light pollution and really liked the cheeky astro-selfie, that came out really nice! Great stuff as always mate, really enjoyed it! Hope you are doing well and have had a great weekend!

      Thanks for watching Paul. Definitely a great budget combo for astro. I thought I’d share the planning process instead of just showing photos like Uncle Adrian’s slide show. I think it rounds out the story behind the images. To be honest I don’t do much astro and my hat goes off to those who do it all the time. I was so hungover for the rest of the day after that 3am haha! Hope you enjoy your July 4th celebrations this week mate. Take care 👍🙏

    Thanks for an excellent review , I have been using a 13mm Viltrox on my Fuji XH-1 very happy with the results , setting @ F2.2 is my pick for astro , much better than the Samyang 12mm F2 that It replaces ( much sharper and better CA ) and even better than the Zeiss 12mm I had back in the day . I may even get rid of the Z6 and 14mm F1.8 combo I used to use for this stuff .

    • @adrianalfordphotography
      @adrianalfordphotography  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching Zane. Viltrox certainly have hit a home run with this lens. Being able to use it on Fuji, Sony and Nikon was a very smart move. Certainly fills a lot of gaps on the APS-C Z range. Have a great day 🙏

    Really need to get out with my Sony and the Samyang 12mm F2. Lovely shots with you combo mate. On your first test shot I can see distortion on the trees (leaning in) do you correct this in post processing? I get very similar with the samyang. Cheers mate👍

    • @adrianalfordphotography

      Thanks for watching Scott. Re the trees yes absolutely easily corrected, but I rushed the post processing on that one a little to get the video done. I’d like to see an astro vid with your Sony. Be interesting to see. Maybe when you’re camping in Scotland next. Enjoy your week mate 📸🙏

      Not too much. I just had to crush the blacks and lift the brightness to define the Milky Way a little due to the port lights being too bright in the corner.

    • @adrianalfordphotography
      @adrianalfordphotography  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That depends how bright the aurora activity is? I think it would be fine in video especially on something like a Sony A7SIII. I shot video of the aurora when I was in Iceland with a F1.8 lens and it worked ok.
