Hi Ellen and everybody! I just wanted to share this about "doing things slowly". A lot of the times we want to do things fast, or get it done fast, but nature has it's own speed. "We can water a plant twice as much, but then it will drown in the water. We can give a plant twice as much sunlight, but then it will burn in the sunlight." This is just a way of saying that all natural processes have their own speed. If we do things faster than that, we will do more harm than good. Thinking like this helps me when I want to get things done fast, even though I have severe problems with pain in my body. I can only do so much in a day, and if I do more, I will do more harm than good. And I also wanted to say that I love your garden and hearing you talking about it. Hope you and everybody else are having a great day!
@@YouAreJoy that's a wonderful way of looking at things and I couldn't agree more! When I overdo anything I pay for it by not being able to much for at least a couple of days. It's not worth it and better to pace myself 😊👍
I'm always trying to embrace change, although it's hard sometimes but try to keep a positive attitude. Glad you will have more time for your deck. I'm slowly cleaning up and putting away some things from the garden. Did a little outdoor work this morning, the weather was nice and cool for my walk too. I had to cut and spray ivy that was growing up my dogwood tree. It looked lovely but it would eventually kill off the tree so it had to go. I got rid of my potted tomatoes last week. Then my husband and I went out for breakfast. I had a check up appt today and my doctor said I was still having PVC's which I have no symptoms and feel great, my walking is going great over 3 miles a day. I think I need to cut back on coffee as I probably drink 4 to 5 cups a day and am just finishing up a cup tonight at 9 pm. Maybe I'm a coffee addict.
@@allisonspeer649 I always drank a lot of coffee but I had to cut it way back because of my stomach issues. I know it can cause palpitations. I went through a period of that while I was going through menopause. The ivy I have is very invasive for sure.
I like watching your videos but when you go into your garden, it makes me anxious! I bet if you got rid of half of the pots it wouldn't look so out of control.
You have a lot on your plate right now. I don’t have a garden, but I know from the years my mom had one that it takes a tremendous amount of work and there’s always something to be done in the garden. You had great crops this year and the flowers and your deck looked gorgeous! Pat yourself on the back for a job well done! And your mom was even able to enjoy some time out there so your efforts were well worth it. So glad your mom is continuing to do well. prayers for you and your family. I always look forward to your videos and insight about our crazy world. Thank you! ❤
Ellen, your garden area space is coming along...getting it ready for fall/ winter season 😵💫🕸! I would be relieved to delay the deck, also, if it were me. Yep...I would say 'no problem'. That is great that your deck person will honor the quote he gave you!! Very nice of him to state that. I am happy to hear your mom is back to feeling herself, and she feels ready to go home. You and she will miss one another, as she has been great company for you, and the same for her!! ❤ Well, take care Ellen...rest and enjoy the evening with your mama! ❣️ God bless!✝️
Hello Ellen 👋, I am happy your mom is feeling better! More time to work unhurriedly on your garden is great news. Your garden is looking good, the fall colors of the flowers are beautiful. Today was a Dr. visit for my husband, then another next week. He had a procedure today and another test. He was exhausted when we got home, after a nap 😴 he feels better. Enjoy your evening with your mom and puppies. 😊
@@DianeDenson-n7x a lot of running around can be exhausting especially when you don't feel well. It was nice having Mom here but it did put me behind with cleaning up the garden but there's still plenty of time before the bad weather sets in... hopefully 😊
I'm so relieved for you that the deck will be done next year. Now you can continue with the garden cleanup with no pressure. Definitely have the grandkids help, that will be a great relief for you. Your garden is looking like fall love it. Have a good night dear Ellen.💕🐕
I like the mulch idea and no rubber things in the ground . It will look more neat and spacious than all divided . Pallet that may bring termites when it rots . Just saying safe than sorry . Oh I saw a guy pouring white vinegar around his house for mice . He said it helps .
Its cooling down a bit in Reno NV. A high of 88F today with humidity of 9%. I love the dry heat, it makes the heat tolerable. We don't get tornados or hurricanes, but we get afternoon thunderstorms, strong dusty winds and smoke from the wildfires west of us.
Love how you said “Garden dominance “! 💪
Glad to hear that your mama has her strength back!!
I'm glad Mom has recovered well ☺️❤️
Just looking at the garden is stressful.
@@robertaackerman6931 it will be very peaceful when I'm done. Sometimes you need to do some work to get things looking the way you want 👍 no worries
