One correction: The brake warning check button does not actually check your brake pressure nor the fluid level. The rocker switch just checks that the light in the switch works ;-) The light should go out if the fluid level in the brake fluid reservoir is high enough....and light comes on if it is too low (indicating a leak somewhere).
As for checking every lock with the key no just simply lean over and lock passenger side before exiting the vehicle and if the boot handle is locked it won't turn
This is a very late model, nevertheless there was never any need to warm the engines before driving, typically drive gently and incrementally reduce the amount of choke. The driveline of Minis are pretty robust, no need to baby them. No they did not have central locking but assuming you drove yourself and did not stash anything in the boot only one door would have been unlocked...
You really ought to consider getting central locking kits if Covid's got you renting your fleet of 'ickle motors. Could save you a lot of hassle with lost/broken keys. I'd also have mentioned not holding the clutch down for anything other than changing gear.
I just got my first mini, 2020 F56 and its kinda weird walking up to a british car and as soon as i sit in it im driving a BMW. Very addictive little bugger.
You don't need to sit with the engine running for 5 minutes (creating local pollution) to warm the engine. I had a 1966 mini choke out, start up, drive off and push choke in half way.
Letting the engine idle for 5 minutes in order to warm it up is a bad idea. Better to drive it gently until the oil is hot - this provides better oil pressure and lubrication.
This is how new kids dont understand how old cars worked i was born with old cars they are the best im not a fan of the modern its just lazy and bullshit i mean even my oldest neese cant understand how key works on Fiat 600 (Zastava 750) i own 1970 Dodge Challenger costume build acsually all classic ways no electric bullshit or any automatic its all manual its how i roll with it and afcourse you cant forget V8 Blower sticking out in the hood :)
Its a fake Cooper - a marketing trip. Proper Coopers were 1960s and early 70s fun. Twin carbs, no fuel injection, 10inch wheels, no rev counter, central speedo with fuel and oil pressure gauges. Not these tarted up Clubmans. Oh, I have driven a 1275 Cooper III and ran a 1275GT for 3 years. That is not a Cooper
I take double offense here, as a 2012 mini owner and Clubman owner. You're not wrong in saying that the classic minis are "proper" they are THE minis but if you want to get down to brass tacks anything that isnt a 1959 Morris Mini Minor is a "fake" then including both of these minis you seem so proud of. I don't think those beautiful minis are fake in fact I'd love if you could send me some photos. My point is that just because something is new doesnt mean it isn't part of the family. MINI being acquired by BMW and these fuel injected minis only add to the great legacy and rich history of the MINI in all its forms and every iteration does NOT take away from the perfection that is the original design. I believe if Alec Issigonis was around today he would likely agree and be thrilled knowing theres Minis that are doing the quarter mile in 13 seconds from the factory with 301bhp even if he may not agree with the design choices (massive wing). Also, I think this is a cooper. from what I understand classic mini clubmans have a specific style of horizontal grill and headlights but you can clearly see the rounded grill classic mini coopers are known for in the video. TL;DR: I appreciate what your saying and know where youre coming from but I have to disagree.
There is no fake mini only more modern ones even with the bmw minis. I own an 83 Mayfair now and i used to own a 14 bmw mini cooper s and both are very fun to drive.
when will auto manufacturers stop using chinese 'fade in 3 months' plastic switvches, the three of four on the console (left three) have faded to gray from black already! and the cheapo 1$ usb 2.5 chargers in a time when a 2.5 w charger usbv wont charge anything bigger than an iPhone SE! need to be 5W usb chargers the autoi industry dont get that fact at all. all the plastic consolke controls seem to ber cheap 50 cent crap from lazada
it's not a classic Mini Cooper, it's too new and has too many modern affectations in it. It's a Hipster's guide to Minis, plus flexing a Casio Edifice...come on. Get a real watch like a G-Shock.

We had early minies …and are green with envy….all those modern gizmos!
Man I miss our old mini.
"In the unlikely case you'll ever need to open the bonnet." I'm almost crying with laughter.
😀

3:15 "Lehver"? Somebody's been watch too much American television lol.

This design should be brought back. The modern minis don't deserve the word "Mini".
I have a 2013 justa and a 1985 Mayfair I prefer to motor about in the Classic
Fully agree!! They are everything a Mini isn't. Fat expensive and German ! That's not a Mini... the car above is a Mini
Nobody waited 5 minutes for these to warm-up, we had to get to work.

Excellent!
City Hunter 's mini cooper 😁🤩
i really want one
The first button just checks the bulb in the button... To actually test the system you need to push the button on top of the brake fluid reservoir
That is my favourite car 🚘

Nearly forgot.........Uncle Pete here. Cheers!
Very fine !!!

When I was a child (5-9) all stay at home moms drive these. I'm born in 1976, so it's not an eternity ago.
Need to nip that door skin bubbling in the bud, but nice car.
The electric sunroof threw me a bit, would have thought they were all manual.
UMMM it would fit in my truck box, 1997 3/4 Dodge Ram yup fit no problem me drive it no way
Ha ha ha ha etc.,etc. I hear you ol` son!
I was expecting at least a handbrake turn. Seems he doesn't know how to operate a Mini at all.
That doesn't mean he doesn't know how to operate a mini

01:52 heater - heater!!! what bloody heater - my old 1275 blew out dust bugs and grit - but heat......
No central locking 😂😂
Salut my friend super car super video subscribe subscribe. .

Well it is a Cooper, whether you think it is as good as the 1960s ones or not...

@@ZackKenin so if I have a 1991 Japanese Rover mini,
do I have a Mini Cooper?
A mini?
Or a Rover?
