I have a G25 bought it brand new and have used it on and off for about 15 years give or take and it works great still.

@@PackageFromChina Bought a secondhand G25 in almost mint condition with the H shifter included. The only drawback are the weak springs in the shifter. A bit more positive feedback to determine what the pattern looks like would have been good but it does work well.

Bought mine a week ago. Drove it like for 30 minutes once in three days, as I was driving for the third time, noticed that the wheel position didn't match to the one in game (it was off by like one or two degrees). Unplugged the wheel, tried to plug it in again, wheel couldn't calibrate itself. Took the wheel apart, found a broken encoder inside. Kinda disappointed tbh but a lot of people report the same problem on their g25s
Great review. I just picked up a nearly brand new G27 last week that had hardly been used, still in the box (this is mid 2024). I'll explain why I chose the G27 over all the others in hopes it may help others decide.
I have been using a Logitech Force Feedback GT for a while and quite like it. Works really well for games Automobilista 2 in Windoze 10. But I really wanted a H shifter and one can't be added to that wheel. So the other G series seemed like my best option.
- I passed on a dirt cheap used G25 for two reasons: it only has two programmable buttons on the wheel and it lacks the RPM lights. For modern games 2 buttons just isn't enough and as someone that never plays with automatic transmission, having an RPM indicator lights is crucial.
- I didn't want to spend extra money on a G29 because it is virtually identical to the GT I have now, with tons of buttons on the wheel that are a nightmare to access or remember their placement - these buttons including the + and -, rotating dial, etc are virtually identical. I don't like these buttons. When you're racing you don't have time to look at the wheel to figure out where the buttons are and some aren't even buttons but instead parts of a D pad, etc. Didn't think it was worth it, despite the (slightly) better technology in the wheel and stiffer brake pedal.
So I went with the G27, picked it up for a mere Can$130. Again, this is virtually brand new. The H shifter feels like it was never used. I like how it has so many buttons, so you can add things like engine start, headlights, wipers, etc to the buttons in the gear shifter. This frees up the 6 buttons in the wheel for more race-ready buttons, like looking back, boost, etc.
I'm still to install and try it as I need to slightly modify my rig to fit the wider pedals. But so far I'm really happy with this purchase. Your review here kinda helps me realize that going with the older, cheaper G27 to have been the right decision.
All great options. The Driving Force GT is good too and you can get it really cheap.
Could have done without the repeated and identical description of the independent shifter.
I got a G25 for $70 at goodwill and it is basically brand new shit was a steal
I have a g25 i picked up brand new. And i remember,really cheap for the time. I guess the shop was defaulting because, at the time the msrp was like 350euros and i bought it less half of the price.
But the quality was supreme. I used to the plastic fantastic ones from trustmaster. Still works really good today more the 10 years later

I just buy, after view this video, a G27 this day. But warning, it's not compatible Windows 11 and Windows 10 can be problematic.
I don't use Windows 11 at this moment.
Windows 10 did play a lot with the G25 myself.
Maybe it's also depending what game.
For example really old wheels work great with Project Cars one. 😄

"We would like to bring this to your notice that the G27 is no more manufactured. Hence, there are no more updates for the product.
The newer security features of the OS may block the drivers which were used by the G27. The previous version of the Windows 10 could also be a factor in your case.
As every cumulative update comes with newer security patches. However, we may not be able to release any compatible drivers for the obsolete products. We apologize for the inconvenience that has been caused."
We can downgrade the security (nucleus isolation), but i doesn't work for me.
Finaly, after testing with a Win10 PC, i have sucessed to install correctly in Win11 ! Thanks Mr Wicked for all your videos (in others channels too !)
It works on windows 11 with the 5.10 drivers and HVCI off in windows security
i still use the microsoft sidewinder 😂
