Some of the competitors looked like highschool kids with 2 months of lifting. It's mind blowing but weirdly not uncommon for people to sign up for things like this and not be ready at all. My dad was a recruiter for the Dallas PD and id watch some of the new applicants during their PT to get into the academy. People from all over the country were there to get into the academy. What surprised me more was the extremely overweight applicants or this one guy who had baggy sweats and a hoodie on with a bunch of gold bracelets around both his wrists. He failed the 19 minute 1.5 mile because Texas heat is obviously brutal with 90-100 degrees farenheit, blaring sun on top of a parking garage. But yea, all the time people sign up for things without really knowing what theyre doing.
