    I have this bike and its absolutely fantastic. I have it for about a year myself. Always drive it on high it’s like a scooter and even pushes you uphill when you give gas(so to speak.) It’s also very strong and can take a fall. The only minor points are the breaks for some reason they get weaker so i have to strengthen the grip from time to time. And my back light recently stopped working but thats an easy fix. If you want a cheap reliable electric bike. This is the one you should go for anyday! 🤘🏻

    I now have 7800 km on my Z20... and am still very happy with the bike. Maintenance costs are also easy to oversee. I have had the bike since August 2021 and the purchase price was less than 700 euros. I have had the most expenses on the controllers, three of them broke due to water. I have now built the controller directly into the frame behind the battery and no more controller problems. I also changed gears to 7 gears and hydraulic brakes front & rear.
    Handlebar has also been adjusted, higher because of my height of 190 cm. I hope to have reached 10,000 km before August.Oh, what I forgot, nice review! (translated with google, sorry for any mistakes.)

    Hi! Thanks for your review. Was wondering if you'd recommend it for a person 1.88m-6.1ft tall? And did you find the assistance to kick in decently fast, or you had quite some delay? Heard people complaining about having 5-6 seconds of delay before power kicks in

    • @Techtablets
      @Techtablets  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi I think will will be okay as the sit can do up quite high. As for the motor delay yes sometimes it took a little longer than expected. It’s based of speed so if you push off quickly it kicks in quick. But if you ride off slowly it can take a tad longer.

      I’m assuming it’s to comply with the law ie designed for the eu/uk market, ce demonstrates it’s a epac to en15184 (bike has a sticker on incase the rozzers stop you). I’ve been researching them as I’m thinking of buying one and from what I understand, here in the uk your ebike needs to have a motor wattage which can’t be more than 250 plus it’s got to be a peddle assist you can’t just press a throttle without peddling, it’s a bit of a grey area I believe and so just removing the throttle completely makes sense, it’s making me pretty sure this is the one I’ll buy

    Watching this video made me realize that my Z20 is very different. It's labeled as Z20 Pro on the frame, not sure if it's because it's the international model or if they just shipped the wrong model to me. Mine has a front suspension, the tires are different (more like MTB tires), the charging plug is on the other side, the computer is different, and it doesn't have this box below the saddle. Based on product photos on their site, I should have got the same as this one.

    Great review well done! Kinda reminds me of Carwow level of review. Coming from a downhill mountain bike background I notice week points in these folding bikes, the main one is the folding mechanism on the bars, it's good and does it's job but I wish there was a version that was more robust, especially for the bigger bikes but they all seem to be the same from what I've seen.

  • @smithy1011

    Does it freewheel or have resistance after a certain speed. Great videos as always man

    • @Techtablets
      @Techtablets  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi it free wheels along just fine. Only thing is it a big heavier than a normal bike. Foldable design plus the battery and motor adds a good 7 or so kilos more. I’ll have the ZB20 review soon it’s basically this bike but with 20 x 4 far wheels and a stronger frame design it’s even better I think. Solid quality these HIMO bikes better than ADO, Fiido and Engwe foldables.

    • @smithy1011
      @smithy1011 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Techtablets yeah I’ve seen the Himo z20 normal and it always looked solid, I bought the Fiido x and now we all have to return due to frame fault. • @smithy1011
      @smithy1011 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Techtablets also no freewheel on Fiido x so this bike is super as resistance of fiido feels as if the bike is 50kg

    • @mirceacoliu5590
      @mirceacoliu5590 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No, it does NOT free wheel. The explanation that the extra resistance compared to a normal bike is due to the electric bike being heavier is just nonsense. Once the bike is in motion and if the ground is flat, the weight is irrelevant. But if you cut down the throttle or if you try to pedal faster than 24 km/h full throttle, you will immediately feel the electric motor slowing you down. I have a Himo Z20 and another regular 20" foldable bike and the pedal effort difference between them, if you do not use the Himo in electric mode is huge. I am not talking about accelerating, I am talking about maintaining a constant speed on flat ground.

  • @cdromuser1

    Thank you for the review. What is the difference between regular Z20?

    • @Techtablets
      @Techtablets  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Not much! I covered it at the start new handle bar that's now screwed into place not the weaker quick release bar and new foldable pedals. The main one is it has all the CE certification so all those tests done. Most ebikes I review don't have that.

  • @Griffindor21

  • @ianrmatthews
    @ianrmatthews 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi Chris, as another Spain resident, might you know the rules and regs for riding e-bikes in the country / EU? I like the look of these Himos (be it the Z16, Z20, or the ZB20) but with the max models costing a fair deal more for what looks like less power and the lack of throttle I don't quite know what to do. I'd look into the Fiidos or ADOs as well but might I get caught out by Spanish law? I just want to get back and forth to the shops!

    Hey everyone, this HiMo Z20 is incredibly strong. I was deliberately run down by a driver in Sydney Australia on 9/2/22. He hit me from behind at unbelievable speed. I could hear the idiot's car accelerating behind me and tracking me to hit me. I estimate the car was doing between 60 and 70 kph. All that happened was the back wheel severely buckled and the wires to the electric motor at the righthandside axle severed when it hit the road. The frame suffered no damage whatsoever. The back wheel is made stronger than an ordinary wheel. It has an extra reinforcing metal strip all the way around the circumference. Police are still investigating. I don't hold out much hope though, the police are corrupt in Campbelltown Sydney. Remember police are a gang in their own right. They do not protect and serve. They encourage gang formation by being perfectly useless. No authorities in New South Wales work together. Buck passing and laziness is their culture. Housing NSW Campbelltown is also corrupt. If you complain about harrassing, scamming, violent neighbours they go out of their way to make life very hard. Dominic Perrottet please address this - I was almost killed.

    BIG MISTAKE buying this bike. It broke after only 2 months of use. They recommended to change the settings, it worked for another 3 weeks and broke again. So they recommended to check the cables. Worked for a week, broke again. None of the solutions worked anymore, until it miraculously started working after not using it for a while. After a week - broke again. It has been on and off for 5 MONTHS now... The customer service sending EMPTY MESSAGES to mark my case as solved in the system. Please DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY on their products.
