I wish Squad modding would take off more. Sadly Squad has a kind of noob community and they tend to think mod=free for all you dont play seriously. The mods are also just underwhelming and dont really offer new gameplay aspects, just new minor features like NVGs, new weapons, vehicles, factions etc. I think it would take off more if it was more like Arma where you have WW2, Nam, The Falklands, Modern Warfare, Cold War, basically everything.

Squad moddings obscurity mainly does seem to boil down to that though. If modders could offer different game modes that were more dynamic and used more of the map it would be a lot more popular. Squads limitation on game modes is really its biggest failing. After 1.5k hours Ive mostly quit playing because its just so repetitive and tourny style. Also so many failed promises from OWI over the years doesnt sit well with me. They never even got around to overhauling the INS mode.
I wish more people used those giant boats correctly. Last night a guy took the boat with maybe 4 infantry instead of letting the 4 BTRs load and get on the beach we had to float for an extra 3 minutes

Man I hit 400 hours fast af when I bought it with my friends. Then they released that ridiculous combat rework and haven’t played since. Yes I’m still salty about it
I always enjoyed Squad. The rework was testing, but comparison is the death of Joy. I love the community and I love the challenge. I love the immersion squad gives. All that is still true, the trick for me is learning how not to play a running simulator and actually get into the fight. That's the tricky bit at first. It's also a game that needs practice! It's a fucking hard video game and not one you're gonna love in two hours.
@@Die4dutch2steel division mod and the supermod mod both get rid of the combated overhaul problems. I only play modded squad now because I can't stand the weapon away of vanilla squad any more. Plus all the additional guns and vehicles in modded squad make it hard to go back

Does this mod have modified ICO gunplay akin to Global Escalation or does it just have none at all (excluding certain weapon exceptions like you mentioned)? I think if it has none at all, the best solution would be for something akin Global Escalation's ICO where it's still present but your arms aren't made of jelly. Edit: Seems you clarified that there's a balance and it's more like ICO than Global Escalation for some factions/weapons, which is what I'd prefer most to be implemented for everything.
The US Marines look great but I wonder why the mod makers chose to use the older weapons like m16, m249, and m4. I suppose it represents the last war accurately, but not the modern Marine Corps.
