    I bought a Roadliner recently. After 20 years of not riding. I rode it from Brisbane back to Melbourne (Australia) as my first ride. I started off on freeways and realised I had to sit with the traffic to feel safe. By the afternoon I was riding through rain on the pacific highway. 2 days later I was riding through freezing cold to get home. By the time I was home I felt secure riding the bike.

    Thanks for the ride. Haven't been on my Stratoliner since October, so it was nice to see someone appreciate one.
    It is a big bike. Many riders have chosen it as other bikes are just too small. I'm 6'2" and the stock ergonomics work great. Love the Road King Classic, but it is just too small.
    Heel shifter is easily removed.
    Stock muffler is just right too.

    Really appreciate your honest review and the play by play of what you where thinking, it was very informative. I think I will be getting one of these bikes.

    Get the Ride Like A Pro DVDs. Slow riding heavy bikes is fun once you learn a few tricks. No fear!

    lol, it's funny - after I wrote that, I thought to myself, "Wow, I scrape the pegs on my Judge a lot." I guess I could have gotten the Strat after all :)

    Hey Night, just watched this "youtube suggested" video of you mainly because I have a Roadliner. Had the bike now for 4 years and love this thing. You do sound a bit wussy, but since I have been watched your vids for the last few years I know that you would now be more comfortable with this size bike. Heck your Roadmaster is much heavier, albeit a bit shorter. I am 188cm so don't experience the same issues you do :)
    Anyway, come across your channel in the first place while looking for Indian vids, so never knew you made this years ago. I now own 2 of the greatest bike out there IMHO, the Roadliner and the Roadmaster !!

    I have had one of these Stratoliner 1900s for 7 years now. Enjoyed the video, but It would have help to hear you speak alittle about what bikes you had some experiences on so we could put your "OMG" in perspective. Thanks for sharing.. Ride safe

    • @NightcruiserMA
      @NightcruiserMA  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, very true. It's funny you mention that. I made this about 4 years ago, and I think in my mind I just figured that the people that had been following me would know what I'd ridden because they'd seen my previous videos. It never occured to me that 3 or 4 years later someone might watch it and not see the previous videos, so they wouldn't havr any perspective. Let's see, at this point I'd ridden a Hyosung 250 for 3 weeks, and then had about 3 months on a Suzuki Boulevard 800, both if which I could flat foot, so this was pretty scary at the time.. lol

  • @YuriDavidLugo
    @YuriDavidLugo 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Is a shame that yo didnt take this bike.. Im your size too and I bougth a Stratoliner de Luxe 4 months ago, I lower it with the Baron´s lowering kit and adjusted the lower spring a bit... Now Im happy and riding a lot....

  • @NightcruiserMA
    @NightcruiserMA  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    It's a great bike, but it really did feel very big, and I was worried that lowering it would make the floorboards scrape too easily, you know? I wanted to feel like I could really lean into corners, and I worried I wouldn't be able to. I do think of this bike often.

    ironically, i am actually going this evening to look at a 2007 model. it will be the biggest bike ive ever ridden, but as of yet, im not afraid of the motor. i am a bit concerned for the 800 pounds of bike tho. however the one saving grave is that you can always add gas if your tipping. lol.

    • @NightcruiserMA
      @NightcruiserMA  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      lol, well, for me it was a heck of a bike for being the first 1800+ bike I'd ever ridden. My first two bikes were a 250 and an 800. Being a new rider at the time, I really wasn't feeling my way with a bigger bike yet (obviously.) It's funny when I look back at it, and I've ridden Strats plenty of times since, but that first ride will always stick out in my mind as a fun time. Good luck!

      @@NightcruiserMA im getting ever more excited. im just waiting the time out now until i get to go checkout the bike. i hope i dont have my hopes up for nothing. but it looks very nice in the pics. i just hope its as nice as it appears to be and that the description will be an honest one. im about 4 hours away from either owning it or riding home depressed and sickened. im on a 1200 sportster right now.

  • @pamotoole
    @pamotoole 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    lol, all that laughing, i hope you bought it, it is a gorgeous hunk of a machine. my little 88 vlx shadow 600 is like that, it has a wide ratio transmission and is totally asleep and happy in the lower gears, but springs to life when twisted a little. and it's only a 4 speed. like the comment of a ramp on the other side of the building to drive thru. i know how hard it can be to back a heavy bike out of a building.lol.

  • @NightcruiserMA
    @NightcruiserMA  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    lol, nope... I didn't get it. Just too big. And I'll tell you, when I bought a shed to put my bike in, I didn't realize they would put a lip at the top of ramp to keep rain water out of the shed. So I have to kind of rock back and forth to get the wheels over that lip. It looks pretty funny for people walking by on the street... lol

      It's a beautiful bike. I wish I had had more experience when I tried it. I like the fairing technology (radio, display, electric windshield, etc...) better on my Indian Roadmaster, but the Strat really is awesome.

    What kind of bike is your wife on ..
    A guy wanted to sell me one of these in gray .. With all the goodies, but it just didn't move me. The blue color is a lot more moving ..

    @ut1004bp 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    At the turkeys, you turned you steering to the right which will draw the bike down to the right, much harder as you apply the brakes, I thinking you didn't realize that being so new to bikes.

  • @YuriDavidLugo
    @YuriDavidLugo 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    I never scrape the floorboards yet, maybe I dont lean a lot, hahaha, I only have problems with the bumpers on the streets....

  • @jbledknockemdead5060
    @jbledknockemdead5060 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I've never ridden, I'm 5'7" and an concerned it might be to tall. My logic is if I start on this beautiful thing I won't realize the difference. Share your thoughts folks.

    • @NightcruiserMA
      @NightcruiserMA  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It really depends. If I had the experience of all the big bikes that I have under my belt then that I do now (wow, that was a really long sentence,) I think it would be no problem. At 5'7, like me, you'll find that the seat is pretty wide, which makes the reach to the ground harder. Again, as you gain experience, it becomes less of issue, but to start out? There are better bikes to start out with, I think, and then in time move to this if you can find one!

      Hi Deltarocks1, she's riding a 2012 Honda Shadow Aero 750. I ended up buying a Victory Judge.. you can see me on that bike in other videos on my channel :) I still feel I need a second bike that's more of a bagger/tourer like the Strato... for longer trips.

    Man you are way too timid with this one LOL. I just jump on them and go. I know from experience that any bike can be a handful if you don't respect it. I've crashed 2 of them when I was younger. So as long as you remember it's a motorcycle, you're fine. Long as you don't panic like a first time rider you are fine. First time riders generally will juice the throttle not realizing the bike is going to spring forward. Then once the bike springs forward, they give it MORE GAS LOL. Then that's all she wrote. How do I know, I've done it, and I've seen it done many times even when trying to teach my kids how to ride LOL.

    • @NightcruiserMA
      @NightcruiserMA  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yep, I definitely was. But this was part of the learning curve for me. This was less than a year after I got my license (I got it in early June of 2012, and I didn't ride much in December, January, February, March, so only a few months of riding under my belt.) That bike just felt too big because I couldn't get my feet even remotely flat. I would do fine now but my Chieftain is more comfortable, even though it's heavier than the Strat. But, this is what my channel is - me failing, me succeeding, me learning, me laughing at myself.. lol

    • @DrJekyl30
      @DrJekyl30 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      NightcruiserMA Ohhhhhhh No man I'm just having fun with ya. Your channel is great, that's why I subscribed. When I first got my license I had to take a crap before every ride LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But I gotta tell ya man those Yamahas are monsters. I loved my Raider but had to sell it because it just wasn't functional enough for me. I ended up getting a Street Glide because that thing has everything on it I need. I know I will miss the power of the Raider but I did what I had to do. Keep on riding buddy.

  • @Docdaugh
    @Docdaugh 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    Well...did you get it? I have one just like it...blue and all ( see my TH-cam video). They are extremely reliable bikes and there is NO lack of power! I traded a C 90 Boulevard for it.

    • @NightcruiserMA
      @NightcruiserMA  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't. I got a Victory Judge instead, and then the following year (this year) traded that in for a bike bigger than the Strat - an Indian Chieftain. Both the Strat and the Chieftain are great bikes.

      @NightcruiserMA  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      lol, sorry you felt the need to watch me. I definitely feel like that was way too much for me at the time. I ended up buying a Victory Judge at that time, and now have an Indian Chieftain (over 100 lbs heavier and more torque and horsepower than the Strat) and have no issues at all. Glad I test rode the Strat, though.. it's an awesome bike. Also, there is a volume control underneath the video as it plays... feel free to mute that and turn on the song of your choice :)
