I think Weiss could be summoned as a Caster due to the amount of glyphs and summoning she is able to do (But she could have similar abilities to Saber class heroes be of her fencing, she’d be stuck as a Caster with a sword in case she needs to fight hand to hand)

No wonder she almost got killed in the volume 5 finale. Her rapier can use several types of dust (wind, fire, etc.) but she seems to mostly rely on ice. Characters shows a lack of creativity with their attacks which, I feel, is an all too common issue in RWBY.
Weiss in Volume 2 would wreck Weiss in V3-5. They made her so slow, she takes forever to cast her Glyphs, she was quick with her attacks and hard to hit in V2.
She used to be able to do so much. In the White trailer she used a firewall to block the knight's attack and in the short she sent out a wave of fire to kill the coming beowulves. She can also create a barrier from energy dust like she did against Banesaw or agains the Queen Lancer's projectiles. She can also summon time dilation glyphs with her lightning glyph and she can send out strong waves of wind just like she did during her fight with Flynt and the lancers. She's also got floral green dust and more. It's not about the characters being uncreative. It's about the writers dumbing them down for the sake of the plot
Jinx Luna In volume five, it felt like they were putting in minimum effort into their writing & animation. It's kinda heartbreaking to know how great, or greater, RWBY could be if more effort was spent on its writing.
She was pitiful in the finale of volume 5. Most characters were. Are we supposed to think that without the guidance of ozpin/oscar and rubys silver eyes, all the others are worthless? Cause thats the only logical explanation, I can find for this lack of power. Tbh, if you compare the food fight episode, and how adaptable the characters were there, to recent episodes, and how slowly they react to things (kinda looks like a soap opera), you will feel nostalgia

There's a scene in Punished where (this is right after Weiss gets disinherited), for just a moment, (when Jacques storms, out of Weiss room, but before Weiss comes after, you see Whitley and he looks startled by what has happened, but the next moment you see him the mask is back up.
As far as locking and loading goes an automatic starts in locked position. This is the bolt in forward position. Next is cocking as the bolt slides rearward and then forward stripping a round from the magazine thus loading the weapon. Therefore you have lock and load which is the shortened version of a longer process.
Hmmm... i think that the saber class is the better choice, or a berseker, Summening either one of them is a WEISSER decison than a rider. She doesn't really ride anything to be a rider, she also favors a more range/magic attacks which would place her as an Archer or Caster class. She favors magic too much to be a Saber.
sligen some glyphs are like mordred mana boost. And well... gilgemash doesn't use a bow and he is archer. Also emiya has unlimited *blade* works and he is an archer. Hercules can be everything except caster... so... yeah.
Reason for Gil and Emiya being Archers is because they have powerful projectile weapons. Gilgamesh also possess EA which is easily the strongest range move in the series and Gates of Babalon. Bows aren't the only way to be an archer, any range type weapon or projectile can make you an Archer. Mordred is also a knight of the round table, that easily places her in the Saber class with that alone. Which is the most needed trait to be a Saber. Heracles excels at mostly everything which is why he can be one also, but he is better as an Archer. There's more to being summoned as a class than just weapons. But she could fall into a saber class, but her strengths wouldn't be as good as Archer or Caster.
WOW loved the Fate reference, if RWBY were servants, Ruby would be Lancer, Weiss would be Rider (or Caster), Blake would be Assassin and Yang would be Berserker. Awesome Weiss moment by the way, one of her best participations on the series. She is definetelly becoming one of the most powerful in the team, still a Glass Cannon tho.
