drove to Bangkok from Singapore in an Mk6 1.4 Golf in Dec.
just two of us and it was more expensive than flying for sure, but really fun road trip despite getting stuck in a flood for 3 hours around Hat Yai.
how I wished we were in this modern Audi!

Re pump the tire while it is hot is a no no.
The tire pressure would have gone up after your 2hrs driving. By re-pump and bring it back to the original psi, you are "deflating" the tire.
