I just did mine, and no joke it really changes the interior quite dramatically. Just looks more modern.
I tried slapping the like button, instructions wasn’t clear enough I broke my monitor.

Great upgrade. I got the part before seeing the video as it was different from the first one I got which needed no part of the old knob to be removed. But I think there may be no need to first remove the black cover on top. The rim should pop right off without removing the top.
As for bits to add to the car, I like that led strip that’s tubular that fits round all the trim . Also the courtesy light/projector on the under side of the doors so the bmw logo lights up the floor ., these are plug and play too and £10 .

My daughter cracked the black plastic centre of this switch on her 2 series.The BMW dealership wanted £600 to replace it (they said the whole switch had to be replaced). We love BMW cars but their prices are crazy!!
How the hell do u break the button?
Did anyone else have an issue where there is a lot of resistance and the knob is much more difficult to spin after Installing the top portion?
You must press it more down
Mine is more difficult to spin to, but it works
I have the same issue. It’s a bad design as the top part presses again the bottom part too much.

Done this today following the steps on the video and now the office controller doesn’t work when you rotate it or press it down only when you push it left or right to go back or forward, any idea as to how I can fix it? Everything looks as it did before I installed the new one but now even with the original on it still doesn’t work

Is that a 2 series front on a 1 series model? The grills look a lot more square like the 2 series
Use a suction cup to undo the black cap on top
