- A question that gets asked a lot is what's the tool we use to land fish off cliffs that looks like a claw?? we call it a flying gaff, rope gaff or cliff gaff and its basically a big claw you attach to your line and slide it down your line to land your fish. pretty handy tool for off the tall cliffs

Bloody great video boys, what a cracking couple of sessions! I’ve only caught a couple of good Spaniards from the rocks here on the east coast at hat head (my local) caught stacks out of a boat, but those 2 of the rocks mean more to me than any out of a boat. Great work lads! Keep it up & stay safe on those rocks

Question...First off awesome fish and cool way or fishing there... But have you ever ran into that style gaff hitting your line, or the hooks in the fish and either pulling the hooks, snapping the line, or anything of this nature? Here in america we use drop gaffs, but much larger in mass and weight due to windy condition and handling ability's. . Looking forward to hearing back from you, I love the idea of design that your style gaff following the fighting line straight to the fish, opens and closes engulfing the fishes body
If using lighter line or leaders it can cause problems but as long as you don’t let the rope go slack it won’t tangle and rarely have any issues

Not tied off no. Just have to be careful. It’s pretty normal to fish off things like that here so just used to it I guess.
