I love your slow-paced, deliberate narration, it's so refreshing after the usual excesses committed by most presenters of historical documentaries. No rolling around on the ground poking at maps !

The textiles, l find it so hard to believe that they have survived for so long. It’s the everyday things as well. The pots and baskets, things have changed so much and yet so little. Thank you so much for your insights on these finds as well as giving dogs their day! Speaking of which, was that Emilia I saw hopping up the bunny trail at the La Lande Easter egg hunt?

You are an incredibly underrated filmmaker. The fact that you went undercover to get a lot of this footage and it STILL looks artful shows how much respect and admiration you have for the subject matter. I hope, in the future, more museums will recognize this and work with you. Thank you for sharing.

Oh this is like going back to the presenters I used to love! Guys who take Egyptology seriously and present facts as if they are talking to adults who can understand and appreciate what they are telling us. No dumbing down or wild theories - just facts. Well done! I have subscribed because I want to see more.

OMG where did you come from???? You are the best egyptologist I have ever seen. Articulate and informative with a very obvious love of your subject. I am 67 and have loved Egypt most of my life yet I have been watching your documentaries with a renewed love and interest. Please don't stop doing what you are doing. You are young and very good to look at, maybe that's why the old skool don't appreciate you. Keep going I think you are the best thing to happen to keep history alive.

Curtis, what an amazing documentary you have produced, with a new and original focus. I watch a lot of such programs and I have to say your presentation here, its content detail, and your narration is excellent and compelling. I totally agree with your comments regarding museums - How could they miss the opportunity you offered them - but then, you gave back to them in a sense, by going underground and promoting them (they undeservedly the beneficiaries!). Anyway, keep up the good work Curtis, your enthusiasm is infections as is your presentation. Love all history. I researched a little of my own family history and sometimes you may just find fascinating evidence that actually explains why you have a specific thought pattern.
Agree that museums have a social responsibility to not only take care of relics (that is so superficial), but to share history and bring it to life!! People are sometimes so ignorant of the importance of history and that is where school, universities and museums need to take responsibility.
Wonderful that the Egyptians were forward thinkers and documented so many things of their daily lifes.

Well said Curtis. Museums have a responsibility to the people whose remains they now hold to tell the story. Ancient Egypt is alive, it’s people are real, it’s scholars and artisans comparable with any in modern times. RIP Dr Hussein

I just began to view this video and I love this video. I went Florence about 15 years ago but I was attending the conference, I could not see many treasures. Due to the strike on Friday afternoon, I was forced to see only Uffizi Saturday morning. I have to go back to Florence. Even I checked details of Florence, I didn’t know that Egyptian museum in Florence is so good. I must visit it.

Lovely film. I always learn new things about ancient Egypt watching your documentaries.
I especially like the way they're not overly scholarly and are easy to understand for "armchair egyptologistst" like myself.
Edited: we should all be grateful for Carter getting Hary Burton to document the excavation of KV62.
Just imagine *not* having all these documents available to us!
