    The look of the V in the knit stitches has to do with how the yarn is spun and plied. Nothing to do with your knitting and also not much you can do about it. The different ways to knit (continental, english etc) can make it slightly less or more pronounced I think but generally the stitches will look like this for everyone.

      I did not know that, but it would explain why it's only in this garment and not with any of my other projects.

    I like the Maude Tee. I think the knitting looks just fine. Did you block it? If nothing else , wear it to lounge around the house. Love the color. Don’t be too hard on yourself.

    First off, I love the color choices for all your projects. They are all so pretty. Now, that top you have on is gorgeous 😍

    For the Maude tee are you sure it’s something you want to put effort into fixing? You don’t seem super enthusiastic about the top in general so might be more hassle than it’s worth to fix. Could just be one of those pieces you look back on fondly as one of your first pieces. 🙂
    Love your Stockholm sweater. That colour looks great on you!
    The cami 9 is not as scary as it seems. The body is fairly simple so it’s really just the folded trims that are a pain. You will have no problems once you start 😊

      Not sure yet... maybe I will find some motivation to fix the cuffs. But your right maybe it's not worth fixing as I'm not that thrilled with the garment overall. Good to hear the camisole is not as bas as is seams, haha. But yeah when are the folded trims ever fun to do... never hahaha

    I think the column + twists instead of visible V knit stitches is something unique to superwash yarn. I could be wrong, but I believe it has something to do with how the fibre is "smoothed" by the chemical process used in making yarn machine washable. It's something I notice when looking at the knitted fabric on my socks (superwash) but not the sweater I'm currently wearing (non-superwash).
    I'm not sure if this is helpful, but I think that might be at the root of what you're observing in the fabric of your Maude tee rather than there being anything wrong with your knitting.

    • @kimberleytjeerdsma
      @kimberleytjeerdsma  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You could be right, this is the only garment I have that is knitted up in a Superwash yarn and also the only project where this occurred.

      Some yarn does that. It has to do with the way it is spun. Most yarns are spun one direction for the individual plies and then spun the opposite direction when spinning the plies together which creates a balanced yarn that creates ‘v’ stitches. The type of yarn you are working with is unbalanced. Meaning the individual plies and the final spin were in the same direction.

    It’s so nice to see your new video! And you really look cute in both the sweater and the slipover😊 Ahh, I can see you in the camisole no.9! As for Maude tee, I’m not sure if you’ll wear more by just fixing the ribbing since you seem not happy about the button band, either. The color looks good on you, though. Hope you’ll find the best (to you) solution!

    I think the body looks good on you, and the collar is lovely. I'd do some surgery, cut above the elastic band both in the body and the arms and then pick the stitches and knit a rib edge, probably twisted 1/1rib and then do a tubular cast off. I've once done that cutting, TH-cam tutorials, and it's magic. Esmeralda

    I agree with @Esmeraldasanz about a solution to your blue polo top. It is very lovely by the way! I must also add, that I have had really good luck posting such questions on the ravelry forum or maybe even seeing other tips from other knitters who have knit it. I think the puckers come from the different gauges between the body and the ribbing and that like you said you maybe knit the ribbing too tight. But Ravelry has a lot of experienced knitters willing to give advice. Good luck! It will be nice to use that lovely sweater.

    I always love to see the projects you choose to knit. I think we have very similar taste. I understand your frustration with your V-neck top, but it looks great on you and the sleeves don’t seem too tight (but I HATE the feelings of tight sleeves on my arms, so I get it), and the slight puckering at the hem actually looks intentional.
    I’m currently working on my first sweater that will have a fold over neck line and I’m a little worried about it getting too tight. If you have any tips to share, I’d sure appreciate it! 😀

      Thank you! Yes it's just obstructing my ways of motion, so it's bothering me haha. Well i now size up a needle size while doing the bindoff or folded over neck lines. This helps for me, but still sometimes end up with slightly tight necklines...

    I always love your podcasts, thanks for posting. Your projects are inspiring and love the color choices! I need to cast on a cloud sweater soon! Looking forward to your next podcast, what's your favorite so far of all your projects? Favorite designer? Yarn?

      @kimberleytjeerdsma  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thankyou! at this moment I'm the most proud of my Moby Slipover as it was a challenge for me to knit up, but on the same time a lot of fun hahah. Favourite designer is hard to say, I do like how Petiteknit her patterns are written up. But I would have to knit more of other designers to really form an opinion on that. And for the yarn, I do really love the knitting for olive Merino combo with Mohair. But I'm just trying a lot of things at the moment.

    Hi Kimberly another great podcast. Ild hate to say this but it sounds like you have many issues that you are not happy with your Maude top. I would be tempted in that cause to frog and repurpose your yarn for another project that you would enjoy more.

    • @kimberleytjeerdsma
      @kimberleytjeerdsma  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes I think you are right... however I think I would not repurpose the yarn as I did not really like how the fabric turned out, so maybe with changing it up I would grab it more to wear or otherwise I could gift it to someone who would wear it.

    The elisabeth blouse from petiteknit has the look of a long sleeved maude tee, but uses ribbed edges. I’ve made a maude tee with long sleeves and chose to do the edges in rib ❤️ loved the episode

    I've read Snefnug is similar to Drops Air, and I used this technique to join Air when I was working with it - it worked amazing and I can't tell where I joined the new balls in - th-cam.com/video/_MmMuL7grBU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=e8mXFGs0m6XQ7uzr. Maybe this will help you for the Daydreamer cardigan! Also, yours looks lovely. I was trying to decide between it or the Honey cardigan recently too, and I bought the Daydreamer pattern because of the raglan, too!

    If you're that dissatisfied with the Maude top, do you consider frogging it? Or you like it enough to save it?

    • @kimberleytjeerdsma
      @kimberleytjeerdsma  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well if it would have been a yarn that I really liked, I would have frogged it. However I'm probably not going to use the yarn for something else so that's why I would like to try to change it up a bit so I would wear it, and otherwise could gift it to someone who would wear the garment.

      @@kimberleytjeerdsma I see...you could consider doing some simple embroidery details over the parts that you don't like. It's easy and doesn't require any reknitting. Obviously that won't fix the tightness or the overall "no-v" look that you mention but it could fix some of the areas that you don't like the appearance.
