60 Minutes, the most successful American television broadcast in history, began its 52nd season in September. Offering hard-hitting investigative reports, interviews, feature segments and profiles of people in the news, the broadcast began in 1968 is still a hit in 2020. 60 Minutes makes Nielsen’s weekly Top 10 nearly every week and was the #1 weekly television broadcast three times last season.
The program still averages more than 10 million viewers, more than double the audience of its nearest network news magazine competitor. The average audience for a 60 Minutes broadcast is 150% higher than those of the network morning news programs; the audience dwarfs the number of viewers drawn by the most popular cable news programs.
About a million more people listen to the 60 Minutes radio simulcast in several major cities and on its companion podcast. Tens of thousands each week experience 60 Minutes online. That woman’s voice sounds like an angel. I miss hearing the voice of my mawmaw and other relatives from down the bayou who passed over the years. God bless all those people down in south Louisiana, I lived all over the world, and I’d love to live there again. No place like it.

I was raised in Baton Rouge, lived in Houma/Thibodaux for a couple of years, graduated from LSU. The culture and love of the sport is mesmerizing. Tiger Stadium on Saturday is ridiculous. Quick story .. my daughter was a sophomore at LSU a few years ago right after Coach "O" took the HC job and bumped into him at Exxon gas station on Highland Rd during the spring semester. Basically wished him luck on the fall season and his response (I'm paraphrasing here) "give me some time and I won't let you down, that's a promise". Thanks for bringing back that trophy to Baton Rouge. He's genuine just like his mom. G E A U X TIGERS !! Thanks for sharing this story 60 Minutes.

I am an Alabama fan but I love Orgeron. He got royally f'd by USC and not the good type of f'ing. The guy can coach and he seems like a stand up guy. I think he is a little off base when it comes to the seriousness of the virus. Yes, younger people MOSTLY get through it without serious problems - but some don't. But the biggest issue is that the younger people can pass it on to their older parents and other older people and that is why they have to take it seriously.
I hope LSU has a great year and Orgeron keeps being himself.

Geaux Tigers!!! I'm a Saints season ticket holder (and my favorite place to be on Sunday is in the Dome), but the best football game experience (to me) is an LSU home game on Saturday! The tradition, the beauty, the band..... .yea... the food in the stadium isn't great, but I'm not going there to eat LOLOL.
What are your thoughts on The Saints relationship with the Catholic Church and pedophilia ?
The food sucks because they know you're going to eat outside the stadium at somebody's tailgate. I've never had a problem finding food at the tailgates, even if I didn't know the people I was eating with.

I'm gonna miss you Coach O. We had some good times, and some not so good times. But no one can take away the fact that you were our leader for the most special year of LSU football in my life. Great vid., you got to root for ‘small community backwater’ kid making good. Reminds me what makes America great. I’m an MSU fan but have always respected LSU people. I’m sure they have to be out there, but I’ve never met a bad one! They are very gracious and hospitable people. Hope they go 9-1 this year and beat the ‘Gumps’ again!.

This weathered well. LSU needs to deal with their one-time success and move on. Burrow was a miracle for them.
Reminds me of Vince Young & Texas. Both Young & Burrow made all the difference. Not to say that both teams didn't have a lot of talent elsewhere on the team but without those guys, no national championship.
Burrow was a special player.....very likely the GOAT. The team was packed full of NFL talent. Unfortunately, that talent almost all went to the NFL. Of the ones that stayed behind, several of those top players opted not to play due to COVID. Just bad luck. LSU is loaded with talent but its young and untested talent. As an LSU fan, I had high hopes for this year but moderate expectations. I thought our Defense would be good enough to hold on while our inexperienced QB got up to speed and the OLine gelled. Obvously not. Of course had Stingley been there their completions to their top receiver would have been about 25% of what they were. It would have made a big difference. A team is not one guy though and out problem is we just dont have many guys that are not green. They will improve but this is not our year. Next year you will really see what the LSU Tigers are made of. This is a scrimmage season unfortunately.
From a Georgia Alum, LSU has been winning SEC championships for decades. They have always been respected as one of the big six in the best conference in the nation. They may never repeat last year, but they are no flash in the pan.
