    😁 No apples were harmed in the making of this video. I need to order some pears because you have inspired me to finally get my canner out of the box and actually do this! (It may or may not have been sitting in my closet for the past 4 years 😳) I love your glasses, btw! You look beautiful. Thank you so much for being an excellent teacher! Have a blessed day everyone. 🙏🤗

    I put pears on my new order (the day after order closing) when I saw your Azure haul. I cannot wait to get my pears!
    Until then, a bushel of apples from a local orchard, the last of my jalapeños, restock of my canned beans from the dry beans from Azure and a couple of runs to my CSA to finish up the season!
    Then I’ll be chomping at the bit for my pears!

    🤣🤣It's ok, I know him. I LOL'd. I love these videos. You are such a helpful person. You guys do the most fun projects! I am definitely going to be adding these to my list! How long does the vinegar sit til you strain it? I missed that

    • @LittleHillHomesteadGa
      @LittleHillHomesteadGa  หลายเดือนก่อน

      About 10 days. It will start to bubble and once that dies off you can strain. When it’s cold it can take longer as well like 14 days. Mine is slow this time of year.

    What do you use all that sauce for? I did apple sauce in the past and thought I’d never get through all of it. My family didn’t like to just eat it as is. I thought maybe you cook with it.
    I also have like 6 half gallons of apple cider vinegar in the fridge. Why did I make so much?! What do you use it for other than salad dressing?

    • @LittleHillHomesteadGa
      @LittleHillHomesteadGa  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ha ha! I am with you on the vinegar. I use it for cleaning, cooking, anything that calls for vinegar. Have you seen our flavored vinegars? Great for gifts!
      We eat the pear sauce but I do also add it to sweet breads instead of oil. I throw it in smoothies, ice cream topping.

    So sad. I’m ahead of you. 😩. I did my pears a few days ago. I haven’t thrown out my scraps yet, BUT, they’ve been sitting in a tub for 3 days. Safe to make the vinegar? Not to consume but only to clean with. Safe??

    How do you get the mother separated from the pear scraps?

    • @LittleHillHomesteadGa
      @LittleHillHomesteadGa  หลายเดือนก่อน

      It typically won’t have much of a mother formed yet. I leave some sediment and it will form after it is strained .
