@@JilesMcCoy If KC 62 is in the equation it's top hi-fi speakers. Actually also without I just crave those deep sounds.
The real problem with the KC62 is that it turns off at low volumes. It's a very annoying problem. We don't always feel like listening at very high volumes and, on the other hand, in certain situations we can't. Many people complain about this problem, but KEF doesn't seem to be able to solve this serious problem. I have already sent the KC62 self to my seller, who has already contacted KEF, but so far, after more than 2 months nothing. I connected KC62 with my LS50W II, in manual or LFE mode, but the problem persists, What should be a good set is compromised by the KC62 problem. Unacceptable.
Unfortunately that is what can happen when you buy a fairly new and first generation product, also Kef seems to be more of a speaker company than a subwoofer company, at least at the moment.
What sort of volume they switch off at?

Had the same experience.Had to set rhe sensitivity for the sub at ÷8db in the kef app. KEF has done a software update and the app now has a force subwoofer on feature. Works great now that I am able use the kc62 setting in the app. KEF had offered to modify my pair of the kc62s but I declined to ship them during the pandemic.
Finally and happily KEF completely solved the problem: In the Kef Connect App, Select Settings -> Speaker Preferences and in Subwoofer System Options put on the "wake up sub on startup" option. The subwoofer will always be on, regardless of the listening volume.
I have 2 kc62 subs just because I wanted stereo subs like I enjoyed with my Infinity RS II back in rhe 80s. KC 62 is a really great sub for my smaller room setup with LS50 wireless II. I have to be considerate as I have housemates.

It’s a very interesting dual power amp design driving the LS50 Wireless 2 - Class D for low frequency, class A/B for HF - with plenty of headroom. I absolutely love the Kef sound - my favorite of all the non-boutique mass produced speakers - and this setup would probably be my end game if money was no object.
I think you can get pretty close to that sound performance on a fraction of the budget though. Fosi ZA3, KEF q150 and SVS Micro 3000 .. For around $1250, it’s a truly remarkable 2.1 system. I’d love to experience both systems back to back or find a reviewer cover this Kef ultimate vs budget Kef shootout.

I noticed two sub-outs (one at the back of each speaker). Do dual sub setup work as stereo sub?
Did you watch all of the video ? They haven't or at least during the film tried 2x
I have these hooked up to Sony TV. Same colour. £2.5k + £400 stands. I use Tidal and TV. They do need some help with base.
Thanks for the video. I got mine yesterday. Setup is finicky...initially they did not recognize my router. This morning they did. Some music app connect via the app, others do not. Am sure I'll figure this out but nonetheless frustrating. The upper midrange sounds promissing. Mids and lower mids so far are muddy even after playing with the expert settings. More fiddling on the to do list. In sum, not great out of the box, but promising.

Amps are class a/b for tweeter and d for midwoofer.
So what Im now interested in after watching...What is just like this set but would play everything including EDM and Rap with the low Bass'? (even that interstellar soundtrack)

What about digital and FM radio?
For FM I think you are talking about actual over the air... for that you need to plug in a FM tuner. Although you can stream most channels over the internet. For digital do you mean over the airwaves? You would nned an external tuner for that too. I dont know of any powered speakers that have tuners today.

These are not all class D, midrange/bass drivers are class D, the tweeters class A/B.

Something to consider. If you do not have WiFi the app does not work. I can connect with bluetooth without the app.
Right on. I just assume that if you are buying these speakers that you have wifi. I am sure there are exceptions though.
@@JilesMcCoyI do have a higher end netgear Orbi WiFi system but the app cannot find my speakers. The WiFi runs both 2.4 and 5 ghz. Unfortunately I have to run a 50 foot Wired cable from speaker to router. Honestly it is a deal breaker and i would not have purchased the speakers if I knew this. I will be talking to KEF tomorrow to start the troubleshooting process.

Bought a set of these for the wife for xmas this year, a pair of Klipsch powered bookshelfs for my middle daughter, a pair of Klipsch tower speakers for myself and a Fluance RT85 for the living area to connect to my Tower speakers. These KEF's are by far the most articulate and stereo wise, most of the time. The problem I'm finding is that the sound is fairly unreliable; I've heard them sound amazing and a little like garbage. I'm always running them on the wifi setting, I have the two speakers wired together and they do not have a network cable plugged in (playing wifi wirelessly from iPhone and MacBook). I also found out the hard way that they are sent to the customer with the setting pre-programmed to wireless connect to each other; had to let the speaker know they are connected by network cable? wth....I guess my question is: will they be more reliable if I run a network cable from my modem to the main? Or am I better off plugging these bad boys into my MacBook or my DacMagic?

Not really, if you think about, you get pre amp,power amp and everything you need. It's THE speaker set for me and a lot of my friends. They are so good!

So you were unable to control the mid frequencies through the kef app. Did you try in your music source app? I use Spotify and was able to adjust the mids... Same when I run it on Bluetooth I use my music app(power amp) eq and adjust the levels just fine.
To call these speakers crap because of your inability to control eq levels is very revealing.
