Good video. When I did my test in south Florida last winter, I would lose 3%to 4% overnight using cabin overheat and sentry mode. Once I turned them off, I used 0% overnight. No phantom drain at all. Stay safe.
Thanks Luke, for the fun information you post on your channel. Have you had the Tesla long enough to say how you like it on your commute, compared to the Bolt? How do you perceive the value of your Tesla with the value of the Bolt? And, how much range does the Fiat have? If you had to, could you make your commute in it? Plug it in at work, make it home? If you go 64 miles, theoretically you could loop it. Thanks for the reply.
I like the Tesla a lot for the commute and at the price we got it for, I believe it was a good value. As Rachel says, the Fiat has 87 miles on a good day. It was our first EV and I did commute with it.
Have you tried using cabin overheat with a/c off (the 2nd option)? I assume that's using the fan only. Don't know if that will help with the interior temperature much/at all. As always, your videos are very informative. Thanks for sharing them! Lee
That’s one thing that drove me crazy about my 2018 model 3 before I got rid of it was the phantom drain. Especially in the winter with the car parked over night with sentry mode off. It just really bugged me to get in the car and It was drained 15- 20 miles. Yes, the summertime over heat protection drain was bad as well.
I would have to block out that sun coming through that glass roof and anyplace else I could. Those temps are awful and it isn't even summer time yet. That is completely nuts. Were you losing that kind of range with your Bolt? I would have to do something about that if I were in your shoes. You would think they would tie the windows venting to the rain sensors. That way if it starts to rain it would automatically roll them up.
@@SpinnerEV That's good news. Clearly the Tesla is much more actively trying to manage the temps so it is consuming more. I had watched a video with Bjorn talking about the extreme cold and energy consumption, but I don't recall anyone focusing on the power consumption due to the heat. So this is very interesting stuff. Thanks again for sharing it with us!

I recognized that braums. I’m occasionally in that area in my grey Bolt.
Some reason even opening my moblie app gets me 2% drain. Sentry mode i get around 6 to 8% in 8 hours 🙄

In Texas from late spring to mid fall we don’t know what “AC off” is

Great job recognizing EV's at this point are not practical, only idiots are ok with a 15 mile loss!
Very valuable insight to any Tesla owner. Can you try one with sentry off and cabin on. Thank you
Will do

I should have a sunshade for the roof soon
