  • This video showcases our stroll along the Philosopher's Path during late autumn 2023. Known as Tetsugaku no Michi in Japanese, the Philosopher's Path is a picturesque stone trail extending approximately 1.24 miles alongside the Lake Biwa canal in northern Kyoto, Japan. This trail gained renown through the daily walks of the influential Japanese philosopher Nishida Kitaro, who used it for meditation and contemplation. Visitors flock here, especially during spring for hanami (cherry blossom viewing) and fall for momijigari (autumn leaf peeping). Beyond its natural splendor, the Philosopher's Path boasts a wealth of history and culture, with numerous temples and shrines to explore along its route. Most notably -
    02:06 Anraku-ji
    02:30 Honen-in
    04:26 Ginkaku-ji or Silver Pavilion
    06:20 Hachi Shrine
    0727 Otoyo Shrine
    08:16 Eikando Temple
    12:48 Nansen-ji Temple
