    I'm watching this at 1 in the morning and I have 3 thoughts:
    1. I'm super hungry
    2. I just came back from 3 of the Overnight series cities (Saigon, Bangkok and Taipei) and wish I found these videos before
    3. Traveling with you guys must be so fun!

    I couldn't agree with you more when you said each time you come back, there are changes yet it's still the same. I was born in Saigon, moved to the states when I was 14. I've spent more time living overseas than living in Saigon now but it's always home. The city is always changing, some times I don't really recognize certain parts of the city yet it's still the same city that I knew. Thank you for such informative video and for calling the city by its familiar name Saigon. 😀

    Saigon is now my #1 go to destination in S E Asia so it was great to see this video. Pretty accurate run down on my favorite city. I've stayed in various hotels and lately rented out apartments weekly or monthly through Airbnb. I also love Chiang Mai northern Thailand but it doesn't have the edginess of Saigon or Vietnam in general. Not happy to hear they are building a new airport in the middle of nowhere. Did the same with Nha Trang which sucked.

      cool, I'm glad you like Saigon. Been here since I was a kid, still loving it now. My hometown is in Ca Mau anyway. It's the south pole point of Vietnam.

    A totally agree, walking is probably not the best way to get around the city but if you're on a bike taxi or in a cab .. you can't stop right away if you see something interesting. So we get a gab bike close to our area we want to explore and then set off by foot. Thank you for all the fun info!

    To all beloved foreigners and Vietnamese born North or Central or South, the name "Saigon " with 300 years of history meant a lot to us Southern Vietnamese. Put Vietnam War or Politics aside, please don't fight or argue, but the word "Saigon" brought warmth to us southerners. Please respect our love and culture in the south when you visit our beautiful country. For those who still call it "Ho Chi Minh City", that is still fine, since it's recognized internationally. There's no right or wrong to call it, but just wanna let you all globally known, "Saigon" is a dear name to most of us, Southern Vietnamese. Respect the history and culture! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

    I'm an ethnic South Vietnamese myself who lives in Sydney Australia and you guys are eating Pho wrong!, you need to mix and push the meat into the boiling broth first before you start eating, the meat is supposed to cook while you eat, otherwise you might get food poisoning...

    • @johntruong7646
      @johntruong7646 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Pho takes at least 8 hours to simmer the broth with the secret ingredients to extract all the aromas. People eat wrong all the times even with the locals. When they bring out the fresh herbs, it has been clean/soaked with water to keep its freshness. Tip to remove the excess water by wrapping a napkin to soak up the excess water in order to enjoy an authentic bowl of Pho. You literally can feel through your senses if it's an authentic bowl of Pho or not before adding anything else, like herbs, fish sauce Hoisan Sauce, Chili sauce or even Saliva. Me personally as soon as they bring the bowl of Pho out, I first have my cleaned spoon ready in my hand to taste and feel it!
