      Thanks so much! If you are just getting it for you and you get the 2 portions, then you could use one for dinner and one for lunch. Hope that made sense.

      Thanks so much! I know exactly what you mean. That's why I had to give up on Misfits Market deliveries. They were ALWAYS delayed and it would be 4 days later before I would get the package, if I did at all. The odd thing is they used FedEx too. I always thought it was FedEx who was messing up, but Home Chef is using FedEx too and I haven't had any issues. I hope you have better luck this time, if you decide to try them again. :)

      @@PlanningUsHealthy I tried them years ago and was not that impressed after a few boxes, but decided to give them another chance because of the grass fed and wild caught meat, fish and seafood. So far so good. I do wish they had smaller packages, because I only have the freezer on top of apartment refrigerator, doesn’t hold much. My box coming after the 16th will probably be enough for the next few months because I still have quite a bit from my last box, but I promised Breana lobster for Christmas Eve, so I ordered early. Thanks for review, some busy days I end of ordering out than prepping for half an hour and then cooking. I wish I could see all the quick meals before I order. Can you do carb friendly with oven ready meals too?

    • @PlanningUsHealthy
      @PlanningUsHealthy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, each week you get to go through all the different meals they have. They have a different choice of picks each week. By picking calorie and carb conscious, it just gives me those as my three recommendations each week. But I can go in and edit and pick whatever I want. I just look for the ones that have the symbol for calorie and carb friendly. And yes, some of the carb friendly are oven ready meals. You still have to do a little bit of prep with the oven meals though. I do think they have ones that you don't have to do any prep but those don't show up in my list for picking.

Then they have the actual meal kits similar to how I do my dinner kits, where it's just portioning everything, but you still have to do the prep work and cooking. • @PlanningUsHealthy
      @PlanningUsHealthy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe there are some that offer single meals, but I don't believe Home Chef does. I know I"ve seen some companies that advertise prepared meals you can just microwave, but I'm not sure which ones are out there. Maybe try to Google it and see what you come up with. I'll see what I can find as well. The cost is different across the board for all of them. They come out to anywhere from $3 to sometimes more than $10 per meal, depending on what you go with. It's a wide range.

    I tried to sign up but they said it was going to automatically renew every week for some ridiculous amount of money so I backed out and now I see soooo much packaging ugh...*update* oh and of course I got an email letting me know I "forgot something" and I should come back and finish signing up....I did see how to cancel etc. in their chatbot's offerred FAQ's and I also found out where they hide the oven ready and microwave ready meals so I thought well okay, maybe.....I was looking at a couple of the meals and there was still more than I wanted to bother with as far as cooking and cutting and assembling etc. I cook often enough - what I really wanted was something I could just pull the lid off and pop it in the oven or microwave. And farther along in the sign up process it said if I cancelled it would charge me like $90 or something like that so basically it would be backcharging me for the discount it gave me. So much for no strings attached. When I got to looking at the pricing, it's really crazy expensive I thought.

      Ever since meal kits became popular there has been a lot of focus on the perceived excessive packaging. I've yet to see anyone compare to regular shopping, but I did a comparison for our household and found that there is half or less packaging waste.
      I have a tiny trashcan in my kitchen. It's the size most people use for a bathroom. When I cook from grocery store shopping, that fills every day. When I cook from meal kits it takes two or three days.
      I also save and reuse the heavier containers. They last better than store bought ones. We've been using Blue Apron, haven't had Home Chef for over a year but I am still using their containers and they are still like new - and in that same time I've had to toss store bought ones.
      It's also worth mentioning that there is zero food waste with meal kits.

    Looks like they auto renew..that's not fair according to me

      Hi there. There's not really an auto-renew, but it just automatically sets you up for each week or biweekly - whichever you choose. But what I usually do is just go on there and "skip" every week and then if there's a week that I want to order, I go in and unskip that particular week. Hope that made sense. Because I'm with you - I don't like things to just automatically send me something or renew.
